Please don't trust and don't ever think about wasting the extra money on this program !

I've bought an 5s from maxis with iValue plan and an added program. The ridiculous insurance program !

Sign up that time told us that screen crack will 1 to 1 exchange and no extra charges.

About 2 months ago I've accidentally cracked my phone screen and call up for an repair / exchange.

Then the customer service told me that i need to pay up a RM550 for a phone replacement.

I've lost the insurance policy i've signed from maxis there and they told us the policy ruled changed. Thats why I need to pay the money in order to exchange the phone.

Considering i've paying for 20months for the insurance plan. RM35/month total damage is RM700

Replacing the phone = RM 550 - TOTAL is RM1250.

AND TAKE NOTE- That is not giving you a new extra phone. ITS TAKING BACK YOUR OLD PHONE AND GIVE YOU THE REPLACED UNIT !

He said if we need to pay an EXTRA RM300 if want keep that old phone !!!!

This is pissing me off !


Maxis user out there ! Please dont get cheated by Maxis anymore. I guess this program help them earn alot !

I'll be terminating all my maxis service from today !

ya maxis kinda likes to cheat ppl. they once blocked my phone line and stating that i used my internet till Rm600++ when i didnt even use any, i called customer service up and they told me hav to wait for billing date to see what the RM600++ is really charged for, when billing came, no Rm600++ only Rm80++.

I actually terminated the insurance policy after 4 months... feel like not worth paying RM30 a month...

I'm too dumb. I've been paying for almost 2 years .....

I've terminated all my maxis numbers d. Total got 4 line ...

well, I was actually duped by the Maxis Centre staff when I purchased Samsung Galaxy S4 at discounted price + 2-years contract some 2 years ago. Next time, we just have to decline all these insurance offer. I suspect the staff might be earning commission from it.

Just like to share my experience. I had the exact same issue like you, where my phone was damaged when i accidentally drop the dumbbell on the phone when i was doing gym.

Called up maxis to claim the insurance, they asked me to pay 25% of the market value of the phone, which is galaxy note 5. Then i asked maxis how much is the 25%, they replied its RM670++. I further questioned how much is your so called "retail price"? They responded RM2500+.

I was like wtf? Note 7 is coming out and your retail price now is still RM2500++? I have been paying the insurance for about 9 months which is about RM135 and now i have to fork out another RM670++ for the insurance. It is such a rip off!! Before i purchase they persuaded me to to get this insurance saying its 1 to 1 exchange and now i have to pay so much to get it replaced.

maxis' reputation is sinking down the drain, i'm gonna change telco once the contract ends!

All this insurance thing if nthg is stated in the policy regarding theft break whether human error or etc etc is all lies from unethical selling

Maxis now is like the Citibank 20yrs ago, before signing, the sales person says everything also can. Once signed, they will say "please refer to t&c". All fault at consumers side.
