Can we act on such misleading adverts via the Malaysian Consumer Protection (Amendment) Act 2010 which deals with unfair contract terms?? Not too sure about here in Malaysia, but in certain countries, ie UK, this most certainly works..For instance, under the UK Unfair Contract Terms Bill, a term of a contract can still be held void even if it has been partially or wholly executed. In other words, what these telcos have been doing are blatantly wrong and they can't get away by just stating "we reserve the rights to amend xx and yy."

Do we have something similar in Malaysia? If yes, isn't it the time we the consumers act?

Ya man I'm afraid not. So far.. for now they can do whatever they want and the bodies such as MCMC not exactly up to par for the likes of what a country such as UK have, to protect consumer rights. They over there have the Ombudsman, Ofgem and Ofcom to regulate terms and conditions set by corporations and help the consumers on any disputes.

Telcos should just drop the word "unlimited" then limit and shame people through "fair usage policy", instead just straight up list how much we get to use.

I think it's not under MCMC's jurisdiction purview in terms of consumer protection in terms of contract or terms stipulated by the provider, in this case Celcom.. If you shoot a complain to MCMC, I guess the most they'll tell you is to refer to the terms with Celcom. What I'm talking about is a possibility of a consumer class action lawsuit under the Consumer Protection Act and not the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (MCMC)..

While I feel that you can file a complain against Celcom individually under the Consumer's Protection Act due to the misleading unlimited and sudden change of terms under the Consumer Protection Act, the claim that you can get is merely the Xpax Starter pack for just RM5 and perhaps the payment you made to activate your previously unlimited burung hantu..

Fully agree on the post above, combining "unlimited" and "fair use policy" as one is bullcrap....It's clearly prohibited, ahem, citing the UK law again..

Confirm no more 2TB.

ieither burung hantu is free at 10GB or need to purchase seperately at RM5 for the 10GB burung hantu.
depending on which magic sim pack you are buying.
