Hey to all young generations out there.. pls take note and PLS SPREAD THE MESSAGE TO ALL OF UR FRENS ...
If u all are going to choose which college to enter, pls NEVER try to put UNISEL in ur consideration...
its a bad university and u will regret coming here... NEVER GET CHEATED BY THEIR ADVERTISEMENT!!

REASONS:
1) Management is not systematic at all... all the staff are rude and lazy !
2) coming to PTPTN loan, u will hv to make an agreement wit them to automatically deduct the money to them...
and the balance they only bank in to ur account. The problem is: THEY ALWAYS DEDUCT MORE and u never get back
you money (THEY MAKAN UR MONEY) than ur balance money only will enter end of the semester...
U will find it hard to pay ur rent and usage for ur daily expenses.
3)They like to charge extra fees and charges to student in order to KOREK or DIG money from u..
4)ALL the staff there are not responsible and rude, never take care student problems and welfare.
5)lecturer are all lousy, ENGLISH also dunno how to speak well, lecturer no knowledge
6)UNISEL is located in somewhere so ULU, in some kampung.. come to accomodation, hard to get..

SO PLS TAKE NOTE GUYS AND GALS>.... Spread the news to all people.... DON GET CHEATED !!
*
1. Very normal
2. Huh? they provide auto deduct service? Most places require you to pay manually. How is that bad? Also, specify how much they deduct please?
3. Well, how they charge extra fees? Further elaborate pls
4. Again, very normal. Those who take care of your welfare are suppose to be your course advisor, if they provide one.
5. ALL lecturer are lousy, or some? No matter where you go, there's always good and not so good lecturer.
6. ULU places hv better study environment, no?

Welcome to university world. You need to take care of yourself, you're an adult now, so, don't depend on staffs of university. More often than not, they are not very helpful.

What's the purpose of having university staff in the first place?

To assist students, hence if they are not helpful (only know how to mind their business) why are they there?

By employing them, of course they are more knowledgeable than us (students), if we can't get their assistance, should i run around and ask students to help me instead?

And TS mentioned them being rude, so is that supposed to be normal?  hmm.gif

Unfortunately, while they are SUPPOSED to help, most of them don't.
Depending on your definition on normal, they can or cannot be normal. What I meant when saying it's normal is that there are also many other universities which have rude staffs. Also, most of them deal with admin work, they are not there specifically to assist students (besides the Department of Students Affair).
But lets just face it, most of these staffs think that they are above students, hence, they think they can just be rude to us. However, don't misunderstand me. I am not saying it's acceptable. What I'm trying to say is that the prob TS face in his university is similar to many other local (private n public alike) universities.

I am just implying that the problems TS list out is a macro problem, not just faced by that particular university only.

Because lecturers there also not good in English? LOL..
The issue is that, whichever way it is, as long as they did not deduct the right amount (even if they deduct accidentally one more Ringgit), they are wrong - because they are the one wanting to make the agreement in the first place. The university has the responsibility that they carry out what is agreed in the pact. Unless, they provide with good explanations which I think TS doesn't receive for his/her impression on the staffs.

TS, did you bother to ask the 'rude and lazy' staffs about why they deduct more money than you think it is? Or you are bad in Maths?
*
By requesting him to specify how much they deduct, I meant to know perhaps they indeed stated that by auto payment, they will charge a small sum as service fee. Because, even when I pay my bill through bank, they also charged me about RM2 for service fee. Hence, IF the university overcharge ~rm2, it may just be service fee and was written but not observed by TS. However, if they overcharge like RM100 or 50, or even 10, then there's an issue. TS can bring it to the consumer's right because they are overcharging.
I just want to know whether TS indeed ask despite them being rude, or is TS only a keyboard warrior.

haha, that is not normal, but usual.
maybe cause by working environment.
because everyday repeat the same job,
people would get irritating easily. sweat.gif

Yes, I think you used a more correct word than I did. I am wrong by saying its normal, I should've said it's usual. Thanks for pointing out.

according to my friends that they had experience, the university auto deduct extra Rm200 to Rm300 sometime and some they deduct extra Rm1k also... So when this happens, the staff always say that it will be forwarded to the next sem, but one thing, Our balance
ptptn money is suppose to pay our rent, and any other expenses for that period of the  whole semester and not to rely on our parents.
so, if this happens how are we going to budget enough money for all our expenses for that semester itself.

secondly, the staff they employ is to take care of our welfare and problems we face, when we need to clear the semester fees,
we have to go to the counter and request for the statement first, and that takes few days to prepare for u.. while the work actually
is only to print out.. so u cant settle your payment and get the clearance within a day.. sometime, it takes a week...
so how troublesome is that for u to go and visit the office everyday while u need to attend classes.. and for us, our ptptn
money only be out at the end of the semester where is going to be our final exams period.. so u guess how many students that
time will hv to get their payment clearance done..

come to lecturers, some of them are good.. but mostly are bad, one thing is because of their explanation in english is hard to
understand. some like to cancel classes and put it on public holidays . so irritating..
the university is located in a village area well there is also the advantage of it of quiet environment to study, but when
comes to finding accomodation, its hard, if u wanna stay at the hostel, u hv to register the resident before the coming semester
and the fear is, u will be scared to be located in the hostel at IJOK. so u check ur self where is actually the location between the student's residential area and the university.comes to transport if u don hv one, u will find it suffering everyday of going to class.

mention earlier on my first post.. i am currently enrolling in engineering course.. smile.gif
btw, thanks for commenting... i hope this problems will be forwarded to the Student affairs department and hope
there is improvement..

Well, then I think its quite unfair to condemn the whole UNISEL just because your course doesn't have good lecturers. (I'm not favoring UNISEL in anyway, in fact, I don't even know about UNISEL until I read this thread, just giving out my opinion on the issues you mentioned, which means that other universities may not be as good as you think)
Also, most university will only rebate on the following semester if they charged wrongly, sadly. But your uni seems to have a problem if deduction is wrong frequently. I feel you should make a serious complain to the higher management, and if still no action, consumer rights is your friend.
Another thing, it's a very serious offence to conduct classes during public holidays. Universities have been warned before. If you want, you can take action and complain to the higher education ministry.

Its Independence day and there is no respect for the country....

As mentioned, it's a very serious offence for university to have classes/test etc during a public holiday. You can always file in a complain to the ministry of higher education.

i'm gonna say this once:

if for some reason UNISEL screwed u over, dont assume u know everything to know about the malaysian education system.

coz u probably win a case in court against UNISEL, but then the ministry will have an issue with u. that is something u DONT NEED. if i were u, i'll just take it up the ministry and get them behind u, not against u.
see, this is why i dont think malaysian students are ready for politics yet.
*
That's why I suggested bringing up to the ministry, instead of into the court/newspaper etc.

Also, PTPTN loan issue has nothing to do with the university. They are not the one that give out money..
TS, you're in what year currently?

the issue of PTPTN can be about the university actually. polytechnics are one IPT that takes the fees directly from PTPTN and only give out the students the rest.
*
Oh.. I apologize for my ignorance, as most universities I know of does not take fees directly from PTPTN then only give out to students. Thanks for sharing.
