After finishing my 7gb data allocation, i topped up 500mb day pass only to realise that this topup will only apply to the principal line and not my supplemetary lines so i immediately topped up an additional 1gb (shared) but still found that my supplementary lines were throttling at 0.05mb/0.05mb (down/upload speed).
Upon checking with the maxis call centre, they told me that despite the topup name being called 1gb (shared), only the principal line can use this additional allocation so i had to top up another 100mb day pass for rm2 on the supplementary line just to get things moving. Everything worked fine then.
However, upon expiry of the day passes for principal and suppmentary lines, both data speeds reverted to data throttling despite the maxis app showing a remaining of 1gb for all lines (supplementary lines' data are not limited on the maxis app).
I have been on the phone with a few of the maxis customer service guys and have received conflicting answers; some saying that the shared topup can be used by all lines and some say that although its written there "share" only the principal can use it. All lines data topups must be done manually for each individual line (huh?).
So now my question is:
1. Is the "shared" top up, shared or not? If its not shared, why provide an option to buy shared topup and non-shared topup on your app?
2. Why is the principal line still throttled even though the maxis app clearly states there is a balance of 1gb?
This issue only came about after the "upgrading" of my maxis one package to the "new" maxis one package from 6gb shared to 7gb shared. Previously topups were instantenous, whereby the moment i topped up, all lines were immediately unthrottled.
What gives, maxis?
By the way report has been done (ref no c16834412) so pls look into it.
