What does everyone think of "what do you think of this company, is it good to invest" threads? to me they seem pointless -- everything they want to know can be googled, if they aren't sure about it, they should just not invest. There's no real point in asking a bunch of strangers what they think about an obscure company.

Another thing is this might just be a way for a get-rich-quick scheme to advertise. So I would like everyone's opinion on whether such posts can or should be removed -- best case situation is that they are completely pointless, worst case is that someone is getting free marketing for his get-rich-quick scheme.

If it's in a post, don't think it's much of a concern. Like if you suspect it's for some scheme, you can always bring it up in the ensuing discussion. Unless of course someone actually starts a topic just to ask that, then that I think is over the line.
