PRC still niego on su35, possible deal may not going
they just like india niego with france, prc want fit su-35 with own parts, some electronic, modify system so can link to china AF system, integration prc missile.
indo still have budget on defense.

seems Su-30 and su-35 still have good demand. F15 no country like ? maybe worry US control too much.

plus SU series also much cheaper fighter.

seem we already got 1 squadron SU30MKM, budget use for other squadron like Mig29 replacement.
Ex RMAF boss also mention RMAF np plan to get more Russia fighter, maybe a litter bit issue on support ,remember engine damage, pilot seat ejected and aircraft and engine lifespan. although price is cheaper but operation cost much higher
also now with MH17 issue, hard for MY buy any russia weapon.

our gov also face political hu-ha if buy Russia weapon which use kill MH17 people. all pin point to russia weapon.
i don't think Gov willing take risk to to that at lease for 5 year later.

ya about $100m, if we construct 3-4 ship, cost still acceptable.

Gowind is too small to fit in SMART-L,
the size radar is huge for 3000 tons frigate, at lease 6000 tons level.
also power requirement is huge.
also SMART-L going to un-popular it will be replace with newest 4 fix panel AESA radar.
Thales I-Mast is best for 3000 tons level balancing size and capability.

well technically not that expensive, bcos Integrated Mast already include all Radarr, comms, sensor, electronic EOD, into a mast, it speed up installation on ship, no need each item install, cost just 10-20% higher on all item buy individually , but it also simplify maintenance later, all maintenance can be done inside mast in any time. cost about $50m each set, but can shorted ship construction+outfit 1 year time (also saving cost). I-Mast pre-construction in factory and ship to shipyard plug and play install. and it is complete all-in-one system for all radar/sensor/comms. much better perform than single unit.
As many discuss on early thread, Gowind Smart-S 3D radar only support ESSM and VL MIca, not support Aster missile. And RMN specify LCS-Gowind ship as ASW role, so anti-air capability just basic, so just accept with MICA-VL。just like France spec Fremm, as ASW role just with Aster 15 SAM, not include Aster 30 in ship.
also for Gowind, price tag is include about 20% TOT/IP cost and shipyard upgrade.

Integrated Mast is new generation combine sensor/comms/system all-in-one for new generation navy ship.
newer navy ship start adopt to use this kind concept. like FREMM-EL, Type 26, F125, Holland class. DDG1000. JSS

also Thales I-Mast 400/500 much better than Herakles with dual 4 fix panel AESA radar. and advantage of integration.

yes, the results from TOT/IP is train many ship designer and engineering, we should start built small vessel patrol boat first.
so Gov should BNS ask propose design 500 tons patrol ship to replace our Perdana, handaanl, Jerung Kris gun boat (about 16 unit, 40 year old ship), those ship design as patrol boat with cheaper cost and low level weapon to built, like usd 40-50m per-ship, basic surface radar+navigation radar, with 1x 40mm main gun + 12.7 navy gun as weapon should be enough. target 24-32 unit, construction can be divided to few local shipyard which have capability to construct it. main job is for anti-Piracy/anti-smuggling/SAR. we have so many sea border issue, need alot patrol boat.

Malaysian Navy needs more ships to improve security

KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) will require additional assets, especially ships, in order to step up security in local waters.
At the moment, six more multi-role naval vessels are needed, said Navy Chief Admiral Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Jaafar.
Speaking at a press conference during the Navy Media Day on Tuesday, he said the Navy needs to have 50 ships, but currently only has 44.
Abdul Aziz explained that apart from the assets mentioned, other naval systems are at a very satisfactory level.
"What is lacking are only platforms to conduct patrols and surveillance," he said.
