Yes, i used that NewMedia server. Yes, SGIX test same behavior as yours.

Already edit the post much earlier to state that the results are not random yea. Only servers that seem to work well with TM network/my ip range & vice versa were shown. There are results of servers on the 'same location' that cannot even deliver 20% speed & similar ping of what was shown. Just trying to check if 'everything else made equal' can we get 'full speed' from anywhere? Yes probably can. It's for... uhh.... download purposes tongue.gif

Oh okay. Thanks...

If you don't mind me asking, whereabouts are you located in PJ.

Would be nice to know where the 124-biased ports are located. Must be an area that TM has optimised because they don't want to incur the wrath of the Datuks and/or corporate figures living in and around.  wink.gif
*
I'm somewhere near or in between Kelana Jaya & Taman Sea
This area seems pretty normal I guess, but hmm, BU/TTDI people jangan main main ok brows.gif

Yes, after you fill in the form and keyed in the system by the TM officer at counter.
You will see it in OCC, mine is reflected almost immediately, within half an hour.

If anyone is facing slow connection, try using other DNS.

It may trick the server to use another CDN.

i am using google DNS
still the same

Now I able to stream Youtube 1080p smoothly, but later around 7pm, I cannot even load a 360p video.

Don't know, didn't ask but I suspected yes.
Anyway, just three months for me. I got my package in July and renewed again in Oct, that's acceptable for me rather than me paying additional RM 20 for 2 years.
*
maybe 1 year later 50mbps already less den rm150. brows.gif

Well, they didn't give it to me right there.

It's an upgrade, but it looks like they are treating it like it's a new application because they are sending a technician over on Monday with everything.

Sounds a bit suspicious. Guess I will just have to check the bill properly for the next few months to make sure I am not charged for anything I shouldn't be.

Did TM give you new equipment?

I went to Bangsar TMpoint. This girl at the reception refused my request to upgrade VIP5 with new equipment while maintaining the same old VIP5 number.

I guess I'll have to try the HQ, like you mentioned.

Biz plan here. Streaming 4k content via Netflix every night, 9+pm until 12am, no issues. Same for Youtube, same for Twitch, same for Hulu Plus.

Surprising to see there are so many complaints about speed capping...?

As expected, guy called today with excuses. Claimed that 'warehouse tak cukup stok router', so 'kena tunggu stok baru datang'. No big deal, I guess, since the general consensus seems to be that the current batch of routers is worse than the DIR-615... so no rush. But I did insist that he bring a new STB asap, because who knows when the stok baru router will datang.

As for the BTU, after speaking with condo management, I went back to TMpoint late last week and asked them to arrange for an ONU instead of a new VDSL modem, so that Unifi can come in on the fibre rather than the phone line, and so I have the option of 50Mbps and more in the future.

In any case, everything is working well at the moment, so I am hesitant to touch or change anything in case the 'balance' is disrupted whistling.gif .

As for your case, did you remind them that your equipment is 4+ years old, and it would be unfair to have to sign a new 2-year contract like a new application and not get new equipment? It wasn't straightforward for me either. Took a good 20-30 mins of negotiation, threat and wheedling. They are instructed to say no when asked initially, so don't give up so easily. If necessary, ask to speak to a someone more senior. I lucked out, I guess.
