I earn direct online advertising income from advertisers in USA.
I also earn "pay per click" income from domain parking.
Do I need to declare this income in my Income Tax Returns?
I read somewhere that "income accruing from outside Malaysia and received in Malaysia" is exempted from tax.

Does anyone know if "audio book" can be claimed as tax relief for books?

I have the chance to restructure my salary package now. I'd like to seek advice from the forumers on how to maximize my tax exempt income.

I know that an annual RM2,400 allowance for traveling to and from home/office is tax exempt.

I also know that meal allowance is tax exempt. Are there any conditions to qualify for this?

What about the Entertainment Allowance? Are there any conditions to qualify for this exemption?

I know also there's some tax exempt for broadband if employers pay for employee? How to qualify for this? I give my bill to my employer? Or can I ask the employer to separate this amount as "broadband/internet allowance" in my salary slip?

I also know there's some childcare allowance exemption, but I have no children.

So far, here's what I can do for my salary package.

Monthly Basic Salary: xxxx
Monthly Travel allowance (to/from home/office): 200
Monthly Meal Allowance: 300 (ie.RM15 a day)

Total tax exempt income: RM6,000 a year.

Please help me to maximise my tax exempt income. Thank you.

Hello? Nobody took advantage of the tax exempt allowances and restructure their salaries? I didn't know Malaysians love to pay tax.

But I'm not wealthy enough to engage a tax agent. And I don't have friends in tax planning. Just wondering if any forumers have restructured their salaries and I can learn from their experiences.

1. I bought medical insurance for my parents. Is this claimable as a tax relief for me?

2. I buy books. The Receipt states
Net Sale RM120.50
Master Card RM87.50
Voucher RM5.00
MPH club Rebate RM28.00

So.. can I claim RM120.50, or just RM87.50?

Oh well, it's that time of the year again when we have to file our tax returns.
This is a good thread. The broadband is something new for this year.
Want to ask, medical fee for parents can claim as relief right? Went to a private clinic, paid RM37. Can claim? The receipt is under my mother's name.

Also, I pay for my mom's medical insurance premium. Can claim this as relief as well under medical expenses for parents?

Q1 - Yes, If required have to show birth cert.

Q 2 = No, medical insurance = NOT medical expenses
*
If I cannot claim medical insurance as medical expenses, then can I claim under "Insurans pendidikan dan perubatan" (Education and medical insurance)? The policy is under my mom's name.

How does the company compensate you for your traveling? Allowance or claims?

But car maintenance was given in the course of work for example as a sales person.. But not deductible?

Hi,
I want to claim the

"Pembelian alat sokongan asas untuk kegunaan sendiri, suami /
isteri, anak atau ibu bapa yang kurang upaya dibenarkan sebagai
potongan terhad kepada RM5,000. Alat sokongan asas termasuk
mesin haemodialysis, kerusi roda, kaki palsu dan alat
pendengaran
tetapi tidak termasuk cermin dan kanta mata.
Perenggan 46(1)(d)"

The receipt of the hearing aid is under my father's name. Can I still claim? Or it has to be under my name?

1. Parents relief.
What to ask, if my parents have income, then can I still claim the RM3k parent relief?

2. What is a "full medical check up"?
I Googled. The hospitals provide so many types of health check packages. Which one is considered "full" check-up?

3. Education. This one is weird.
Education Fees (Self)
(i) Other than a degree at Masters or Doctorate level-for acquiring law, accounting, Islamic financing, technical, vocational, industrial, scientific or technological skills or qualifications;
(ii) Degree at Masters or Doctorate level-for acquiring any skills or qualification

Wouldn't (ii) overried (i)?
(i) says law.. accounting, cannot claim.
(ii) says everything can claim.
