yes. as long as you have proof that he made the payment. E.g. credit card bill.

I think officially you CANNOT CLAIM the tax relief for Broadband...

Email to LHDN to ask lah... then their answer is the best.

Personal income tax. The receipt should be addressed to the name whom the relief is claimed from.

In my opinion, you cannot claim for E-Book Readers. You can claim for E-books you purchased.

Hi All,

I am currently employed in KL and doing my duty to pay tax as citizen.
I got an offer to work and transfer to Singapore to work next few months. I have following question below:

1. When I move to Singapore to work, I will not have any income in Malaysia anymore (no BE form), am I still subject to tax where income gain from Singapore?
2. I am currently holding some shares in KLSE, if I declare that as income, I might be able to get some money from the government after all the personal relief, am I right?
3. If totally I have no income in Msia, can I still file in tax return, I suppose gov will need to pay me money?

Thanks, Will

This year I invested in a business and become a sleeping partner. My name is registered as partnership in the business. However, I'm still working in a company and every month my salary is deducted for the PCB. As I know I need to submit my tax with business income. Do I need to inform LHDN about this? Cause next year I will submit my income tax at June. I afraid LHDN assume that I'm not reporting my income as usually as I submit at april.

For point no. 2 and 3, if i buy a cheap house and rent it out say RM 700 per month and declare that as rental income, I suppose I would be entitle to get back some refund from Gov after all the deduction etc, will this work?

You would not get back any kind of refund from LHDN, unless you yourself got paid PCB more than your actual tax.
