Does anyone know how the free minutes in the call plans are deducted?
eg. I have 60 mins free calls. If I made a 15secs call, what is the balance remaining? (a) 60mins - 15secs or (b) 60mins - 30secs(call block)

QUOTE(xxYonG @ Sep 15 2015, 07:01 PM) I think it will deduct by call block. That would be 'cheating'. You can never get the actual amount of free call minutes!

The standard practice is in blocks of 30 secs or 60 seconds. A call of 15 seconds will deduct 1 time block. Read the TnC to find out.

I can't find anywhere in any telco's TnC that states free minutes are deducted by blocks. I know that call charges are calculated by call blocks and that is stated clearly everywhere. Anyone in the know can confirm call blocks apply to free minutes as well?

I refer to MagicSIM as an example: Point 1d in https://www.xpax.com.my/reload_tncQUOTE d. Each free minute or SMS shall be considered as 1 free unit. The free units of minutes or SMS will be deducted based on your usage. Upon full utilization of the free units, standard charges shall apply. Illustration:
i. For each 1 minute call, 1 unit will be deducted from the Reload Bonus. ii. For each 1 SMS sent, 1 unit will be deducted from the Reload Bonus. To me, it indicates a 1minute call block. So, a 5secs call to a voicemail will cut off 1minute block of free calls.

For digi the free call is calculated based on the actual usage. For example if your call is 15 sec, then it should be free minutes minus 15 second.
Not sure for other telco. Im using digi smart plan 50

If it says for each 1 minute call or part thereof, 1 unit will be deducted, then I agree with you that it deduct following call blocks. Guess we need confirmation from telcos before subscribing to their call plans. This post has been edited by eyesee: Sep 15 2015, 10:13 PM
