Frequently Ask Question [READ ME]

1 - I am a non-bumiputera. And I am totally new to this. Which fund should I go?

Variable Price Funds. Only ASG, and ASN3. Currently only have this two option for you. For those who having any account on Fixed Price Funds, you can keep trying to top up with no guarantee you able to get additional units. And to newcomer you can't apply for new account for Fixed Price Funds anymore except ASNB announce any additional unit to be done on particular fund. Thus, and ultimately, the only choice is that ASG and ASN3. But, now this two fund is approaching its maximum unit availability according to ASNB.

2 - I am a bumiputera. And I am totally new to this. Which fund should I go?

Follow this order, you will never go wrong. ASB - ASB 2 - ASW2020 - ASM - ASD - AS1M.

3 - Any online transection allow?

Yes, one of them is m2u. Others may have but need confirmation from others member. However only apply to bumiputera also. Why? Back to #1. Normally, the money will be transacted but it will be returned when there is no unit available. However the administration fees, 1.06 MYR will not be returned.

4 - EPF?

Yes. But details need an expert to explain it.

5 - Where can I buy the unit?

Agents. Pos MY, MBB, RHB, CIMB. And ASNB office as well.

6 - Best time to buy?

No specific time but, most people do say that. Before any big festive sessions, school reopen and any occasion that need money. However, you don't know when people do need those money.

7. Places to try opening new Fixed Price Fund for the Non-Bumipuitera.

Maybank - KLIA2, Bdr Bkt Tinggi 1, Klang Town, D'sara Uptown, KL Sentral, Cheng & Graha Peladang (Melaka), Rampai Biz Park, Karak
ASNB - Melaka
PosMalaysia - Shah Alam, Triang
CIMB - Bangi
RHB - Padungan

Places above are based on user experiences. And they managed to open the precious account on the mentioned location.

Current Issues -

- Risk of changing FP to VP
- Risk of being taxed
- Risk of the falling MYR affecting the funds performance
- Risk of the withdrawal limit

However. All the risks mentioned isn't proved, yet. Just some opinion from the forumers.

Resolved

- FP to VP.
Anything happen, there will be an announcement. Thus, needless to panic on this.

- Taxing.
Normally, it will be renewed automatically. And the latest will be on 17/18.

- Falling MYR.
No, because ASNB invest 100% in local market. (Confirmed)

- Withdrawal limit.
In agent, maybe yes if you want to take your units as cash. But not having any limit when transferring to CASA.

What we can do now is see how this 20bil act on KLCI. And making further interpretation.

100% of the unit trust fund is invested in Malaysia. So "mainly' is rather, an inaccurate word to use in this case.

4) Is there someone I can contact to clarify?

1. Because different people have different appetite. Some like fix price (FP), some like variable price (VP). You cannot apply for all. Refer fiat page and see which one you can apply. Already clearly stated on first page what is available for non -bumi

2) No best. Best is asb but you and I cannot apply for that. Depends again on what you want. FP or VP.

3) You can hold all for long term. No problem.

4) You can ask in this thread for opinions. You can also clarify with pnb via email

Hope that help. Any question feel free to ask.

2) Is there a best among all the available products?

3) Which one I should invest in if I want long term investment (10-15 years).

4) Is there someone I can contact to clarify?

You should really go through the 1st post and get yourself familiar with ASX. And all FP ASX for non bumi give more or less the same return. You can contact PNB for more clarification

Nav is price per unit. For ASX (FP) they are fixed at rm1/unit. ASG and ASN3, you need to visit the counter to know the price as it changes everyday.

Manada be aware that those ASX cannot be open just like that. When you go to the bank, they will tell you chinese quota is fully subscribe. Cannot open.

Hence you need to beg them and tell them "I know if got units for sale, can open new account. Could you please check for me?"

Higher chance to open at places mentioned on first page.

I thought I make it quite clear...

Go to agent. Take number ir ask then want open ASM account. Then apply. Then "bank in" like your saving account. Done.

But. Please be aware that this is investment after all. The risk is there but basically its save.

Try read the top 5 post again.

Any question can still ask here.

I think he meant ASN3.

By the way, recommend you to open any or all of the ASX as it need only rm100. Once open can top up easily. Opening ASX is the hard one. ASN3 can open anytime.

Try go kl central maybank.

But since you have intention to play forex or stock.... I think any asx product isn't suitable you. You risk appetite is so high lol.

Asx is all low risk.

ASx as "backup" only.. there's no silly about it.. if u found good opportunity in stock or forex, u can use tis $$ in ASx to buy.

u got profit, can reinvest back in stock/forex. or u can deposit balance back into ASx

Again, is his money. People dare take risk what. So let it be.

You need to know that ASN3 charges you 5% + 6% of the 5% tax upfront. ASX on the other hand is tax free for now

ASX in this forum is regarded as FP. Anything not FP, not categorise as ASX. NAV is low for ASN3 & ASG. Buy now, when it increases (if it increases), you will profit more than ASX. You can lose your principal for VP.

ASX is FP. You buy and sell at RM1. Thr only way you can profit is the dividend which is more or less >6%/year. There will not be loss as buying and selling is rm1.

ASX used to be fully subscribed (no one can buy) but past few months until now. everyone can buy. If malaysia 's economy were to recover, expect ASX to be fully subscribe again.

Think of ASX as epf level interest but you can withdraw anytime no need to wait until 55 years old.

ASN3 and ASG can be open anytime as they are VP funds. No difference than Buying from FSM except maybe stable dividends. You can make more money via VP but you can lose more money too if the NAV drops.

Not calculated everyday. If you topup interest on 1st, that interest will be calculated inside. If topup on 2nd, no interest.
If topup on 30/31, you will get interest for the following month.

But I do no know whether you will get interest for that month if you do the following. Eg, Deposit rm1k on 1st, withdraw on the 2nd and then deposit again on the 30/31 to to get interest for the next month. Do not know whether such thing will be given interest. If yes, effective rates can be more than what they give.

So if yes, withdraw out on 2nd and dump into Ambank Truesavers and ibg out to casa on 29. Go to bank on 30 and redeposit via contra. Anyone can clarify if the way I mentioned will still be given dividend for that month?

as mentioned, it will be calculated based on the lowest balance of the month. for example:

on the 1st, total balance = xyz + rm1k
on the 2nd, total balance = xyz (after you withdraw)
on the 30th, total balance = xyz + rm1k (after redeposit)

lowest balance of the month is still xyz

on the 2nd, total balance = xyz (after you withdraw)
on the 30th, total balance = xyz + rm1k (after redeposit)

lowest balance of the month is still xyz
*
Yape, to further affirm the statement

New Balance
01.09.2015: RM10,000
15.09.2015: RM 8,000
30.09.2015 RM10,000

RM8,000 will be used as calculation for the dividend for that month as it is deemed as the lower account balance for the month..

Yeah,... I just saw it too. For ASB and AS1M, and need to invest in at least RM100 to qualify for the lucky draw. Is it really that easy to get the units now... since they said need to invest in RM100 'just like that',....

Look at this part of the disclaimer section :-

Before investing, please read and understand the content of the prospectuses. Total return on the investments may go down as well as up. Investments in the funds are exposed to fund management risk, inflation risk and purchasing power risk.

ASNB's funds unique on-the-spot redemption honoring is really something you can't find anywhere else in the world never mind Malaysia. How they manage the portfolio while adhering to the investment mandate, managing risks and ensuring enough liquidity to honor redemption is a trade secret that I'm sure many would like to know.

You could say that on-the-spot redemption is one of their product differentiation

However, this time round, these clauses have become very relevant, which,... in the earlier days, were always ignored due to the great returns offered.

Liquidity at RM1 per unit is, by no doubt,....a great characteristic of the ASX funds. rclxms.gif

I would disagree. The fund manager would have already "closed books" weeks if not months back to prepare for the income distribution. Given that PNB as the fund manager is known to be "conservative" when it comes to its asset/portfolio management, the recent run up on the local bourse would have little or no bearing to the expected dividend to be announced.

It's why while other UTMC can give high returns some times and than go -ve when times are bad but ASNB funds can give consistent and competitive returns regardless of the market/economic conditions. You may not get the highest returns but in the long run, ASNB funds are a better option.

I still believe it would exceed 6 cents per unit but doubt it'll be higher than 6.5 cents per unit.

Counting down to the income distribution announcement for AS1M which is expected to be coming soon..

Expected more or less between 6.4% to 6.5%..

6.6% would sure be a bonus..

Manager won't close books so early
They need to determine the Latest position based on acceptable 'cut-off' date
ASW have closed their books up to 25/8 before they announce Dividend for financial year ending 31/8/2015

Well, i am also actually not preferring to top up online because even though the top up has been successful from the bank side, i still need to go to the asnb agents to update the passbook to get the final figure..

Unless asnb offers something like kwsp whereby we can check the balance online.. ^^

Actually RM1.05 is considered ok. Don't need to burn petrol and find parking, paying for parking and go home empty handed. Maybank only AS1M

Look at it this way. You pay RM1.06, no need to find parking, burn petrol waste time waiting. To update your book, simply walk into the the nearest bank at your workplace about 330-4pm (usually asx counter will not have many people at that time) and update the book.

Hi, I bought my ASN 3 last year September through CIMB Bank, is there any method where I can track net value of the fund online(such as FSM)? Or an online calculator where I can fill in the value I purchased on and calculate the net worth now including the dividend?

Does the NAV value drop everytime the dividend is given out? I don't really understand the calculation of the net worth at this moment.

I try to show what I did for my calculation and hopefully someone will tell me is it correct or wrong.

NAV at the time of purchase - RM1.2065, purchased 3946.88 units. (worth RM4761.91 from RM5000.00 @ 5% sales charge)
At year end dividend 6.20 sen, so I think it's 3946.88*0.062=244.7066 (Is this MYR or unit?). I assume it is MYR because the dividend is in sen.

Right now the NAV is RM1.1289, does that means my ASN 3 current net worth is RM1.1289*3946.88 + RM244.7066 = RM4700.3394?

***Edit: or does the RM244.7066 converted into units according to NAV at the time the dividend announced? If that's the case how do I know what is the NAV at the time of dividend announcement? I can't find that anywhere on the website

If the NAV does not drop when dividend is given out then the fund doesn't perform really well since it dropped by 7.76 sen while the dividend is only 6.20 sen.

I'm trying to learn the calculation on net worth, not sure if I miscalculated anything. icon_question.gif

Yes, u need to update passbook
The validation will indicate total units received plus NAV plus total value of dividend

As far as I know that is what it meant. Same thing goes for any FD or SA not active for 7 years, it will go into the lost money. Very hard to claim it back. Have to make sure the money in the lost money is more worth it than your lawyer fees.

What happens if I die without a will?

If you die intestate:

1. Your assets will be distributed according to the formulas set out in the Distribution Act 1958, and not according to your wishes or the needs of your family members;
2. The court will appoint a trustee and executor to administer your estate, and this may give rise to disputes between family members or beneficiaries on who should be appointed;
3. The court will appoint a guardian for your minor children, and the person appointed may not be your preference;
4. The distribution process will take longer and cost more, ordinarily requiring a bond and the appointment of 2 sureties to guarantee the proper administration of the estate, as well as further court orders to effect the transfer of real property.

Who will inherit my assets under the Distribution Act 1958?

Section 6 of the Distribution Act 1958 sets out various scenarios for intestacy and provides a fixed formula for the distribution of the person’s assets. The following are some examples:

1. Leaving a spouse, issue and parents: spouse ¼ issue ½ parents ¼
2. Leaving a spouse and parents but no issue: spouse ½ parents ½
3. Leaving a spouse and issue but no parents: spouse â…“ issue â…”
4. Leaving issue and parents but no spouse: issue â…” parents â…“
5. Leaving no spouse, issue or parents, then the following persons are entitled in accordance of priority: brothers and sisters; grandparents; uncles and aunts; great grandparents; great uncles and aunts; government.

Is there any basis on your saying?

Please see http://www.asnb.com.my/v3_/asnbv2_3services_EN.php under Estate Claims. It is totally the opposite of what you are saying. Even if the deceased does not leave a will or died intestate, the person entitled under the deceased's estate may still apply for Letter of Administration from High Court to claim for the units in ASX.

Please do not mislead others if you are uncertain of the issue.

If you have a will drawn-up by Amanahraya Bhd (ARB), you can specify in the will if you want to transfer the units to your beneficiary, or to transfer cash out and transfer the money to your bene.

If you selected transfer of units to your bene, only the units will be transferred, but the dividend earned during the process will be given out to the bene in the form of money.

If no will or any bene documents, then need to follow the Distributuin Act.

Yes. A will is accepted. If the deceased died without leaving a will, it will be distributed according to Distribution Act (letrer of administration) or Small Estate Distribution Act (for estate not exceeding RM2 million).

Malacca Minorities ask for privilege of ASB investment in Budget 2016
QUOTE
The Portuguese community here has urged the Finance Ministry to extend the privilege of investment in the Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) to the 'Baba and Nyonya' and the 'Malacca Chitti' communities under Budget 2016.

"The Babas and Nyonya and the Malacca Chitti communities deserve to be considered to be given this privilege for their ancestors had roots in Malacca for centuries," he said in a statement Friday.

rM55 , but I dunno how they calculate either is one time fees or per cycle.
*
RM55 fee is nothing, the big fee is the % of commission on your balance units to be claimed.
If you have 1M units, and your kids wanna claim via the PNB Amanah Hibah, the commission fee is >RM5000.

So even if i now cannot withdraw the money i have put under their names, i have no regret, why wanna let PNB earn the commissions when the time comes...

Of course. Didn't you read this thread? People have been topping up. The only 2 question are
1) Do you have the money?

Money is not an issue.
Confidence, yeah but not all in 1 basket of course. I just knew about this thread. Previously when i asked the maybank staff, they said it is not opening new units. That was last year.

One can always go during lunch time or around 330PM. Amanah Saham counter closes at 4PM. There's always the topping up via online. tongue.gif brows.gif
But I do not know whether topping up via online can be done after banking hours or not.

That's standard answer. Topping up is easy. But opening is hard. Then again, nowadays lots of units available. You want to top up one shot RM20k also no problem. laugh.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Now I can guess why CIMB staff don't like "help" all of us top-up OTC.. it's because CIMBClicks can do top-up all funds.

M2U cannot do all funds, only ASB & AS1M. that's why the staff can "help" to top-up OTC rclxms.gif

On withdrawal limit, I got to know someone else who encountered that in Maybank, outside of Klang Valley. Not for cash withdrawal but for debit to account. I seriously doubt it is because the branch wants to 'meet their KPI' bla bla

Good news is, you can go to ASNB office to withdraw, the withdrawal limit does not apply. ASNB will issue a cheque to you on the spot. Cash withdrawal however, is limited to RM10k

The withdrawal limit at agent is definitely something new. But then, the last I withdrew more than RM25k was from CIMB. Anyone care to go ask CIMB, RHB...?

What do you mean by tie the asw account to any bank?
Up to you to visit which bank you are comfortable with. You can walk into any agent bank to topup or withdraw. No need to necessarily say must be bank A.

You can topup via cimbclicks and still walk into any agent bank to topup/withdraw/update your book.

Hope is clear.

If people can topup as1m via M2U. I don't see why one cannot topup asw via cimbclicks. You can always give it a try. Worse come to worse is you burn only RM1.06. The RM1.06 is not refundable whether you manage to topup or not.

If people can topup as1m via M2U. I don't see why one cannot topup asw via cimbclicks.  You can always give it a try. Worse come to worse is you burn only RM1.06. The RM1.06 is not refundable whether you manage to topup or not.

Is it a wise idea to withdraw money from loan account that charges 4.7% per annum to put it into asw2020 that has historical returns of >6% ?

Someone told me the amount saved is not worth the hassle of taking risk of falling asw2020 returns and increasing interest rate for housing loan

Try to go to your home branch , where u have account there. Easier for u to direct debit from your account to PNB account once the fund is available.

The bank officer also needs to be careful because once they lock in the amount of units u want to buy , the units are transferred to your account. Unless they know u well , they won't take that risk of u not paying them or short of cash. They need to balance their account before 4pm or they will have to pay it.

If they don't know you, you have to bring cash - ready and verified before they even start to look for available units. Try to understand their point of view too.

How about the housing loan prepayment period? Now cut short because of partial payoff. If I withdraw it , it will extend ? I really can't figure out the housing loan

I calculated only save me about 1000 a year. Worth it ?

That's what all of us have been doing these past few months. Topping up. As ancient and wiliam said now is very easy to topup. Banks will tell you full. Fully subscribe. Tell them if got unit, one can buy. Please check. If one bank refuse to check, simply go to the next bank.

No need to go back to where you open. Any agent bank and post office. Topping up is easy. But opening new account needs more work.

Depends on whether you
1) Have the $$$
2) Have the confidence
3) Have the time (you van now topup online)

Yea. If you have the confidence just inject! But the AS1M I think suspended for dividend calculation.. you still can try open ASM or ASW.

Branch if can go kl central. Mbb. Really helpful stuff!

Branch if can go kl central. Mbb. Really helpful stuff!

Thanks alot. I ll give it a try when I have some time to drop by.

We can just open ASM or ASW at banks?

That's what all of us have been doing these past few months. Topping up. As ancient and wiliam said now is very easy to topup. Banks will tell you full. Fully subscribe. Tell them if got unit, one can buy. Please check. If one bank refuse to check, simply go to the next bank.

No need to go back to where you open. Any agent bank and post office. Topping up is easy. But opening new account needs more work.

Depends on whether you
1) Have the $$$
2) Have the confidence
3) Have the time (you van now topup online)
*
Yea. Now don't wasting time go beg to try. Go over another branch when rejected. Not worth the time for now. This opportunity is good. As for me, mbb and pos still best.

MBB branch. It's easier for u to debit money from your home branch account to PNB in the spot.

Other branch can, but u need to carry cash. Worth the risk of being Robbed? I won't

That's why best time to topup is end/beginning of the month. That way you will get the interest

QUOTE
Eg

Topup on 30/9
Interest will be calculated for 1/10

Topup on 1/10
Interest will be calculated for 1/10

Topup on 2/10
No interest

I expect AS1M dividend to be announced on this Monday noon.

Expect 6.4%. Hope it will be higher than 6.4%, at least RM500 more than my expectation. Why? I want to get a media player (either HiMedia H8 or Minix Z64). Then it will be a nice present from ASNB! Ha.

I know it is off topic, but if you know or are using a good media player, please share 2 lines here (brand and why you find it BAGUS!). I am already following the android etc threads here. There may be some friends here not in those threads. So ...

Thanks!

finally a thread for my 1 stop ASx answers! why la aku tak jumpa dulu...

So i am interested to diversify my investment but then too lazy to monitor all. I have ASB (active top up) and ASW2020 which was opened during my teenage years.
That ASW was simply neglected after taruk rm100 during opening, over the years i'm amused to see it grows up to 1k...whoa.

Reading this threads makes me think if i would open several ASx accounts & reap on the dividend rates yearly. I'm targeting of maximizing own capital for ASB within next year, and the dividend payment for this year is used to open up ASB2. Any thoughts?

why would u use the dividend from asb to invest in other funds? just keep it in asb la coz u will earn highest dividend from there.
if u have extra money then u keep in asb2 when asb is maxed out.. then asw2020, then as1m, then asm... in that order

If they are not helpful, they will not even help you to try up.. ^^

nice rclxms.gif

I don't think each branch have quota. it's depend on fund availbility nod.gif

well reason why some banks say have while others say no because of branch staff attitude or could be banks internal policies we don't know about nod.gif

yes, because i remember that last time I went to one of the banks..

when the teller helped me to try to bank in that time, one of the officers stood up and say that i should open account and invest in ASG because it is easy to subscribe and also offer high returns..

the moment when the officer stand behind the teller, i can sense the stress and pressure.. haha.. ^^

No need to go to asb. Banks maybank, cimb, rhb, can topup. Just take no. Go to counter tell them you want to topup. If they say cannot, tell them got empty units, can topup one. If still don't want to entertain you, go to another bank.

Cause this and that story come out, myr nose dive, people sell. Some sell because no confidence. Some sell because moving money into overseas investment.

Depends on the individual. Like I said if you want to topup now, now is the chance. Opportunity like this does not come everyday. Just see whether you have
1) The cash
2) The confidence

If me, I still have confidence. Why?
1) ASX gave good returns during 1998-1999, 2008 crisis
2) ASX unlike other funds DOES NOT give you 100% of what they earned. They ALWAYS keep some as their reserve. So even if you are pessimistic, easily scared and think of worse case scenario, I will say their reserve can last them min 3 years at 6.x%
3) ASX is national interest tongue.gif
4) ASX FP generates their money based on dividends from Bursa. They are not really traders.

If you want to run, please let us know so that those of us who still want to topup can topup. tongue.gif

Thanks for the confirmation. Will try my luck tomorrow or the day after.

Theoretically, should have tons of unit available. Plus those who have lost their confident & wanna flee with their money, will surely do so tomorrow after interest pay out.

Looks like more of our money is going to MGS with foreigners exiting.
QUOTE
Malaysia's bond market will not collapse as local funds will step in to fill the void and invest in the market, assures Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Governor Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz, amid concerns over the weakening ringgit and economic slowdown. Despite foreign investors withdrawing their money out of the country, Zeti said this would not impact on the bond market much. "We have our own domestic institutional investors like EPF, PNB, Tabung Haji," she said, referring to retirement fund Employees Provident Fund, fund management company Permodalan Nasional Berhad and pilgrims fund Lembaga Tabung Haji.

I am wondering why she said the following:-

Citing an example, Zeti said during the 2008/2009 global financial crisis, there were huge outflows which were much more significant than what the country is seeing now. - See more at: http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysi...h.KtYBSmif.dpuf

In 2008/09, it was the US subprime crisis, and the US Government had to act first to help the USA. I believed Asia was not affected much, even if it was, it would be due to contagion of the fall of the economic situation in the USA. I don't think there were foreign fund companies pulling their funds back to the US, unlike now.

I don't think capital flight was an issue back then. Capital flight was an issue in 1997/8, but not in 2008/9.The KLSE and the SGX slid was because of sentiments, and interest rate rises (for the SGX), which hit a lot of REITs. And yes,.. the subprime crisis hit the Sgp banks because of toxic assets that were detrimental to investors - that's right, that was the problem.

There r a lot of selling of ASx funds lately. To reduce this maybe ASNB is contemplating whether to pay out in full without reserving for the future. That will bring back all the sellers. Wishful thinking? hmm.gifn

Only for this year's income lah. In the past they like to say this year income is 8.5% but we are distributing 6.5% and reserve the balance of 2% for the future. So if they were to declare 8% dividend then there will be less redemption.

Thanks for the sharing..

Anyway, as projected, the dividend for AS1M is really closed to ASW2020..

Now.. i think ASW2020 would be the benchmark for AS1M..

I don't believe it can be a lot. I would gather the performance of the KLCI for the same corresponding period would be something like more than -10% so it would be very shocking if they could carry forward too much given that they'd have to spend more to pay out dividends this year with larger UIC of the fund.

I dubt so. Traditionally, ASM has always had a lower payout than ASW2020. If ASW2020 managed to get 6.40% for 2014/2015, with the ongoing probs in the country, the KLSE and in the loaning of funds to help out in the MGS and for Valuecap, the dividend for ASM for the 2015/2016 period should be, at most, 6.20%. hmm.gif

So ...

Yeah,.. am aware of that. That's because the results back then have not reflected in totally the slump that we experienced in the last few months. That's why we still got 6.60% for ASM in April 2015. Then when the time came for ASW2020 to report, quite a huge effect of the slump has been taken into account, hence the lower dividend compared to ASM.

Yeah,... just OT a bit,... if I converted the principle into the SGD and bought Keppel Corp today with the funds, I'll be getting 7.08% annual dividend, paid to me two times per year. Even if this dividend drops to 6.50% due to lower DPU because of earnings problems, I'll still equal the ASM yield which pays out only once per year.

Just food for thought, since I've been following and comparing with the SG stocks recently.

Correct ma bro. >6.4%, equals to 6.5% so theoretically additional RM500 with 0.1% increment.  blush.gif

> 6.4% can also be 6.9% mah. Ha.

OK off topic.

Yeah,.. am aware of that.

I agree with that. The lowest that Keppel Corp ever dropped to was back in 2008 when it hit 3.29. Will it ever drop back to $3.29 ? Nobody can tell for sure.

But what I can tell for sure is in 2008, it gave a total DPU of SGD0.69 which was the highest DPU given ever. Subsequently, year-after-year, the dividend payout has been quite consistent, even through the Euro crisis. I think I can live with the highest dividend for that year when the stock price hits its lowest level, and subsequently recovered.

Coming back to our PNB funds, even though the chance is quite remote that the FP funds will be converted to VP, there is still a possibility since the terms are in the Master Prospectus. Secondly, what about the tax exemption clause by end-2016 ?

Added : the question then becomes are we willing to take a risk for a big drop in capital appreciation back to the subprime crisis level of $3.29 for an additional 0.5% dividend yield, paid twice a year, in a currency that has a higher chance of winning in the long run against the RM and with its origin based in a better country with less of the problems that we are facing in this country ?

Will Keppel Corp drop back to so low as $3.29 ? Don't forget that it is a strong company with a big mkt cap, and a dividend payout that will support the price.

I see,... okay, I misunderstood then if he was talking about the dividend for 2014/2015. Yes, for period 2014/2015, the dividend payout was 6.60%.

But I believed we are more concerned with what sort of dividend payout will we enjoy for period 2015/2016, to be announced at end-April, 2016.
