Thanks for all the replies, guys,.... As the end of the year draws nearer, the PNB mgmt. will soon need to make an ann't if they are extending the 'FP terms'.

I am still staying put with half of my holdings still inside.

Another speculation just for discussion sake : what if they don't announce anything, and just let everything flows over to the following year ? FP remains as FP into 2016 and everything seems to remain as it is ?

Perhaps the PNB is also waiting for Ms Janet Yellen's move... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif ... before deciding to extend for us,....

hmm.gif sound make sense to me. But even ASB2 only capped at 200k  hmm.gif

conversion or not , still early to say. But yea recently myself reduce some portion of my money in ASW , better diversified somewhere else a bit  sweat.gif
*
Capped at 200K so as to benefit as many people as possible - which is a good thing. Still,... there are so many outstanding units.

Perhaps we should go around asking our Bumi friends if any of them are currently invested in the ASW2020, or ASM or AS1M.... then we can get a better feel,... biggrin.gif Prhaps ALL have taken out their funds from the above FP funds and shifted over to the ASB, biggrin.gif ....

asw2020 has a fund size of approximately 22 billion units. 11 billion bumi quota. 1 billion unit still available. there are still about 10 billion units invested by bumi, if that makes you feel better.

Thank you, Alexander,... this is worthy news,... rclxms.gif

Give chance or no bullets? tongue.gif

I think :-

Not give chance.

Not no bullets.

But save bullets to invest elsewhere to diversify.

It's not donation
In accounting terms, its known as provision for impairment loss
*
I am not sure for impairment losses but for something like provisions for bad debts in accounting, it is up to the accountant to estimate. Hence, for impairment losses, if there is no check-and-balance on how the figure is derived, then there will be lots of questions here.

I supposed ASW have in place the basis n policy for impairment loss which will b verify by auditors

Okay,... let us trust the professionals then. Or rather,... we have to trust the professionals then, no choice if we wish to invest in ASW,...

Every single point change when you form a family.
The above is absolutely CORRECT !

I have always said this,... one can always say that he can save this and he can save that,... but when he starts to fall in love and he wants to take care of his wife and his children, then all boulders start tumbling down. Try to think of strengthening your earning power when you are young, and not strengthening your saving power.

So many ads promoting these funds now,... from FP funds to VP funds... Compared to earlier times, the mkt signal to be read here is PNB is getting nervous that they may lose out to other investment vehicles locally and internationally, OR;...I can;t think of any other reasons... or perhaps PNB wants to help us to invest in safer securities for our retirement,...

Topping up don't need to beg. Only opening account need to beg. You ask bank cointer, they will let you try. (For me) I just tell them nak cuba beli unit asx fp. Then they ask me berapa nak cuba? brows.gif

Maybe because last time I go everyday to the bank to try so maybe they know me. Even I observed some Unker trying to top up also no need to beg. Just ask the counter.

Wow,... you seemed to be glued in front of the terminal waiting for responses. I appreciate your quick replies, bro,...

Tq for the clarification,...

The information from AR 2015 (ASW2020) stated that dividends received would not be taxed due to the single tier taxation practice since 2008..

As such, I believe that the exemption on tax for income distribution would not longer be an issue..
*
The final paragraph under the heading on 'Taxation' in the AR, upon translation, basically said :-

If the Unit Trust is paying out dividends following the 'First Tier Taxation' System, then no claim against the taxes paid can be made anymore since there is no tax deducted against the dividends at the source of the payout.

This is a general statement applied to all dividends paid out in Malaysia, after the amendments done against the Income Tax Act 1967.

As for the dividends paid out at the end of a Financial Year of a particular fund distributed by the ASNB, some of the dividends are carry-overs from previous years, and some are 'first-tier' dividends paid-out by companies that the PNB invests into.

What are you talking about ? I did not see these infos in the statement sent to me in 2014. Neither did I see these wordings in the ASM statement sent to me in June this year.

I'm talking about ASW2020 not ASM  tongue.gif

last year don't have. tis year statement have wor.

u go see yourself when u receive it yawn.gif
Yes, by snail mail  sweat.gif
*
Yes, aware of the fact that it's in the ASW statement that you saw those notifications imbedded-in. I was comparing against last year's ASW statement and this year's ASM statement since I have not received my ASW statement for this year yet...

Normally the Non-Bumi categories of the ASX FP Funds and hence, their statements have quite similar characteristics, though not exactly the same,... so ASM does not have these wordings,... what do they mean, Nexona,.. Wil,... ?

that's why i ask why have the  "extra" weird detail on the statement.

I donno have loan from Unit Perancang Ekonomi Negeri (UPEN) to invest in ASW2020 blush.gif
*
I somehow feel that the words don't mean how much we have paid back to the state Gov't on the amount that we have borrowed,... it's got something to do with the State Economic Planning Unit (EPU)'s dealings with the PNB. Some movements of funds somewhere out of PNB !!!!!
