QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Oct 25 2015, 04:16 PM) Different banks have different spreads as they got different base rates. But all add up to 5.2%. as at to date, only maybank provide asb2 loan with a flat rate of 5.2%, that is why i'm not really keen to finance..i just used my epf acct 1...Maybank, Cimb, Rhb, Bsn For asb loan, i got this offer late last year and i just apply max 300k at 4.85%... |

QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Oct 25 2015, 03:32 PM) According to Tun Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid, there's around 10bil units FP ASx funds available for Bumiputera investors. 954.85 mil units - ASW2020 6.43 mil units - ASM 309.61 mil units - ASD 1.65 bil units - AS1M 7.27 bil units - ASB2 Looking at the overall pattern of the available units and taking into account forummers' views, I would opine that the low number of 6.43 mil units STILL AVAILABLE from the ASM are not BUmi units. I believed they are the 'overall' remaining units, still available for all races to acquire. Secondly, it looks like for ASW2020, there is still not that many Bumi participation inside it. This is probably due to Bumis moving over their funds to ASB2 after the ASB2 was launched. The 'safety factor' would be heavily reduced if the participation rate for Bumis is low. Only the ASB and more recently, the ASB2 can be used as collateral for loans. Not the other funds. |

I guess that was before the bank's using BR. Loan still based on BLR? For asb loan, i got this offer late last year and i just apply max 300k at 4.85%... So u are getting BLR-2%? May I know which bank? C? R? Or M? |

QUOTE(foofoosasa @ Oct 26 2015, 12:47 PM) This triggers another thinking - there is a possibility that ALL the 950 mil units available inside the ASW2020 are meant for BUmis only. I'm sure the other forummers can verify this from the formulae. If this is so,... then,......hypothetically,....... : if the ASW2020 units are converted into variable priced units anytime after Dec 31 this year, the Bumis will only be affected minimally. Why,.. ? Perhaps all the Bumis have moved their funds over to the ASB2 already. The political aspect of this national matter has been satisfied. I believed this type of event draws some similar parallels with the ASN conversion from Fixed Price funds into Variable Price funds many tens of years ago, as in the Bumis could move their funds over to more favourable ones before the conversion. |

Hansel, chill. if you are worried, transfer most of your current asx fp into the upcoming asx fp which most likely be announced next year.
That will guaranteed you tax-free and longevity of the fund (change to VP) for at least 3 years. |
