You guys seem to have forgotten our earlier discussion. ASW2020 is perceived to be safer due to political reason - being having racial quota.

Secondly, ASw2020 has a higher c/f amount this year than AS1M.
*
and could also because of the W2020 thingy whistling.gif

it's not a one day decision...i opened asw since 2008...back then, the div was superior then epf, thus i used to hedge accordingly and i used odasw as well...

now, with asb2 coming and the first dividen was equal to asb,asw and as1m were not favorable to me anymore

with the current 3b snapped up in asb2, im going and invest under my children name first as it is capped at 10b..try max 50k for each child, then i asb
*
well now I see the that EPF is outperforming ASx (ex-ASB&ASB2).

but as unker D say, don't put all your eggs in 1 basket sweat.gif

Overdraft against ASW.

Last time ASW could be in the form of certificate and pledge to the bank for OD facility, 5 years ago, BLR was 5.5% and OD interest rate can get up to BLR-2% (for my case), so net OD rate was 3.5% compared to ASW which was 6.6% in average. Therefore there is a gap on the cost of fund and the return in ASW.

So there are some ppl see the opportunity. There were many ppl use ASW to pledge with bank, OD out the money and use OD to deposit in ASW and pledge again...do it multiple times to maximize the OD, so 100K of seed capital may ballon up the deposit till RM1mil or more with multiple OD placement.

Eventually ASNB found the loopholes and stopped the ASW in certificate form....
