Jose Mourinho says he would quit Chelsea if he lost players' trust

Jose Mourinho says he will only quit Chelsea if he loses the backing of the players.

Mourinho is in the midst of the worst run of results of his trophy-laden career, but he remains happy with his handling of Chelsea's miserable season, saying: "I am not afraid, I'm not crying, I'm not desperate''.

Mourinho, who insisted he would not resign, suggested the media should speak directly to the players who do not go on international duty, captain John Terry among them, to ask whether they are supporting the Portuguese, rather than report speculation.

"People can say what they want. I think you should go straight to the players,'' Mourinho said. "Get a table at Cobham [Chelsea's training ground] next week -- John Terry doesn't go to the national team, Diego Costa doesn't go, Ramires doesn't go. Ask them.

"If they tell you they don't trust me, [that] is the only thing that can make me resign. The only thing. But not fake sources. The players at the table.''

Mourinho insisted he was handling the spell well, after a fourth loss in eight Premier League games.

"In this moment it's not so easy and my feelings -- I'm so unhappy with the sport feeling of defeat but I am so happy with myself with the way I am facing this.''

The club wants to make it clear that Jose continues to have our full support.

As Jose has said himself, results have not been good enough and the team's performances must improve. However, we believe that we have the right manager to turn this season around and that he has the squad with which to do it.

Jose Mourinho's Chelsea struggles: A problem for a novice in failure

Jose Mourinho’s own brilliant record means he has little experience of struggling sides. As a result, it seems the solution is in danger of eluding him, writes Adam Bate.

Mourinho himself seems to acknowledge this is different. It serves as both a reminder of his record and an admission of his plight. "I get it as a fantastic experience - an experience that I don't want to repeat," he said last week. "I think it comes too late, to come after 15 years is too late, but it's something that is helping me to be better, a great negative experience."

Mourinho explains why he will continue to pick Ivanovic over Baba Rahman

After another dreadful performance from Chelsea's defensive unit not only on the wings but also centrally against Southampton in the Premier League, Chelsea fans' roars for changes in the line-up picked up even more momentum. Still, José Mourinho continues to back his starting fullbacks César Azpilicueta and Branislav Ivanovic, and explained why he isn't using last-minute transfer Baba Rahman over them on the pitch in the Premier League.
QUOTE
"[...] Because Baba Rahman arrived in the last day, because he doesn't know what is is to play in this kind of championship.  He had no pre-season with us. He needs time to learn, he needs time to adapt."

"At the same time, every team expect Maccabi Tel-Aviv is a team of giants. And if you don't have a minimum of five tall players good in the air, you are dead in set-pieces."

"When I play Azpilicueta on the right and Baba Rahman on the left and I don't play Ivanovic, I have only three, not ever four [good players in the air]. So we have to think about all the details. And I think about all the details."

Jose Mourinho charged by the FA following post Southampton comments
QUOTE
Following Saturday's loss to Southampton, Jose Mourinho let loose on the officials, a rant almost certain to bring charges from the FA. On Monday, that charge was announced on the FA website:

Jose Mourinho has been charged for misconduct in relation to media comments he made following Chelsea's game against Southampton on Saturday.

It is alleged his remarks constitute improper conduct in that they allege and/or imply bias on the part of a match official or match officials and/or bring the game into disrepute.

He has until 6pm on Thursday 8 October 2015 to respond to the charge.

Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic urges back-to-basics approach
QUOTE
"That's life, that's football - you have ups and downs. We need to get back to basics, work even harder," Begovic told the club's official website.

"We have to show character and we can't feel sorry for ourselves. It's not the standard this club and team has set so for us at the moment it is a very difficult time.

"When things are not going your way it's tough; we're playing against a lot of things at the moment, it's a mental thing as well, but it's just something we've got to keep fighting through."

Chelsea is supposedly offering Ramires a £70,000-per-week contract over four years, which will see the deal ending in 2019. As of now, Ramires is under a contract signed in 2012 that will expire in 2017, earning £55,000-per-week according to our FFP database.

CHELSEA FIELD MORE YOUTH THAN ARSENAL
QUOTE
The report has compared some of the top teams around Europe, who have handed minutes to youth players in their respective domestic leagues and the Champions League, the results, are interesting.

The special one has given a total of 318 minutes to youth players over the last two seasons. The likes of Dominic Solanke, Loftus-Cheek and Andreas Christensen have all made their debuts. However, Solanke and Christensen have both been loaned out this season, to Vitesse and Borussia Monchengladbach respectively.

Chelsea were ranked behind both Bayern Munich, who gave 596 minutes to youth players, in second place and La Liga giants, Barcelona who were the clear winners with 895 minutes.

Something that Mourinho will be happy with, he has soared past Arsene Wenger in the ranking. Wenger only managed to hand 71 minutes worth of game time to youth players last season.

On another positive, he was placed ahead of his former side, Real Madrid in the rankings too. Former Chelsea boss, Carlo Ancelotti, only managed to give 61 minutes worth of game time to youngsters.

good first step, with terrible runs of form..I hope that more and more young players will get their chances.

got rumors we are going to recall Bamford since Palace not giving him near enough game time. but doubt he'll be played under Chelsea. most probably loaned out again. but still hopeful.
