QUOTE(Savor_Savvy @ May 29 2017, 07:54 PM) Mini is a good device. I have mini 1, 2, 3.The screen on mini 2 and 3 are great since they are Retina displays. If comparing same period of iPads, mini screen will certinaly looks better than ipad 9.7 inch since the ppi for the screen is much higher. Ipad mnin4 screen certainly looks better than iPad Air 2 for example. |

I peeled off the Long time matte anti-glare screen protector on my iPad mini 2, only the I realised that I had been wasting my Retina display on iPad mini 2.
With and without the protector. Looks so much difference. In conclusion, if one wants to enjoy the beauty of Retina display, he should never put on mattte or anti glare type of screen protector, because it degrades the quality of the Retina display. Putting clear crystal film is fine though. |

QUOTE(NightFelix @ Jun 28 2017, 10:12 AM) there is. but very difficult to find. especially good brand one. for my ipad mini 3, i am using tempered glass (moshi brand), very good, totally does not degrade anything for the retina display. and i used moshi tempered glass on my ipad mini 3 because my ipad mini 2 i was using screen protector previously and I dropped it therefore a small corner of the ipad mini 2 cracked. lucky that when i removed the cracked portion of the mini 2 stays even i removed the screen protector.i am using the ipad mini 2 naked now without no SP or tempered glass. the retina display looks damn sharp and crisp, even nicer than the new ipad 2017 i bought for my parents because ipad mini has higher PPI than the ipad 9.7 inch. but without protection, i need to be more careful to prevent any scratch or damage of the screen too. |

In your guys opinion, how many more years Apple gonna provide IOS support to Mini 4? I was thinking of getting a small tablet of either Apple or Android.
And will Files in IOS 11 be available on Mini 4? Currently using my aging iPad 2 and I need to upgrade. This post has been edited by azrilyp: Jul 16 2017, 11:42 AM |

I think probably until iOS 12 or 13. A8 is the same as iPhone 6 chip which it has been 3 years now. The problem that I am hesitate to upgrade to iPad mini 4 is due to the fact the chip is rather old now. Even ipad cheap 9.7 inch version is using A9 chip. Normally the iOS support for iOS devices does not really support more than 5 years. Ipad 2 is the device that I see the longest support for new iOS so far.And will Files in IOS 11 be available on Mini 4? Currently using my aging iPad 2 and I need to upgrade. upgrading from ipad 2 to iPad mini 4 should see significant jump in the user experience though since ipad 2 is really really old device. If until 12 or 13 thats like another 2 years or perhaps 3 years the most. And yes, the chipset A8 is rather old and thats the main reasons why I'm looking at alternatives. Android doesn't give much advantage either as company like Huawei and Samsung tend to 'abandoned' the OS upgrade after a year or most 18 months of the device released.upgrading from ipad 2 to iPad mini 4 should see significant jump in the user experience though since ipad 2 is really really old device. My issue with other ipads is the size as I intend to carry it around everywhere I go. I do carry around my iPad 2 around but due to it size, I find it inconvenience. And my other point is the file management in iPad. I heard come IOS 11, Files will be introduced but still not much clue of its capabilities. |

Android doesn't give much advantage either as company like Huawei and Samsung tend to 'abandoned' the OS upgrade after a year or most 18 months of the device released. ipad mini is certainly the best size for anything, especially on the move. i have all mini 1, 2, 3. that's why i did not get mini 4 since i tot it will be mini 5 out. but looking at the stage now, it may be the last ipad mini u can buy from apple. so if u are really in need of an ipad at this size, then u may want to consider it.My issue with other ipads is the size as I intend to carry it around everywhere I go. I'm waiting for Apple next event which is normally in September. Maybe they will announce something abt Mini lineup and the IOS 11. MAYBE something crops up that would guide me to a decision. |
