GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
-----------------------------

Maintainance Pack 1 update package for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 introduces a number of new features and fixes errors found in the previous version.

Maintainance Pack 1 is a cumulative update for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0. It can be used both for application setup and for updating any earlier version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 without settings be reset to default.

New features:
1. Support for Windows XP 64-bit has been added (except for the pro-active protection module and plug-ins for MS Outlook and Outlook Express mail clients).
2. File Anti-Virus
- "Scan mode" setting
- Schedule for pausing the scan and file anti-virus tasks on events "application start up/exit"
- Resolving the username and the name of the computer from which the access to infected files is attempted
3. On-Demand Scan Tasks
- The ability to configure operation in the "Scan for Active Infections" using the "Disinfect active infections" setting
- All lists have been revised to include the ability to edit components (scan task objects, exclusion masks, PDM paths, etc.)
- The settings for controlling the system load depending on external tasks running has been added to all scan tasks
- Quarantine storage scan object has been added
- The start-up objects scan scope has been extended for 64-bit versions of Windows OS
4. Proactive protection
- Detection of a number of keyloggers types has been added
- Windows Task Manager protection against malicious dll (that are often used by rootkit software) has been added
5. Updating
- The ability to perform updates from the Administration Server has been added
- An update copying (updating from shared folder) task has been added for all types of updates (updates of the database, application modules, etc.)
6. General properties
- An option has been added to scan data transmitted via secure connections (SSL) using E-Mail Anti-Virus and Web Anti-virus.
- The ability to use the system environment variables when specifying objects to be scanned, scan exclusions, Anti-Hacker rules and proactive
protection module has been added
- The ability to register any types of events in the Windows events log has been added (including the ability to select the type of log - system or user log)
- Utility for product protection against failures has been revamped: all processes of the product "monitor" each other and automatically restart closed processes
- The product's command line interface has been revised


Known issues and appropriate solutions:
1) When installing to save previous settings or installing on top of version 303:
- Anti-virus databases saved earlier cannot be used
- the startup objects scan task run settings do not stay configured
- The "Disable external service control" setting resets
2) When you install on top of version 303, only the protection components available in build 303 will be installed under Windows XP 64-bit. In order to install additional protection components, you must use the Install and Remove Software Wizard, after which you will have to restart your computer twice.
3) When you install on top of version 303, the license key is not always correctly imported under Windows XP 64-bit. In such a case, you must repeat the activation procedure.
4) After product setup replacing installed build 303 you will have to restart the computer even if the setup wizard does not display a prompt to restart.
5) Product setup replacing installed build 303 on a computer running Windows 98/ME is only possible through removal of the earlier version. You will have to save its settings first, then restart the computer and install build 411.
6) You may get a message about a hidden data transfer when Windows Update runs
7) The application may crash if network activity increases while a dialog box asking if you want to scan a secure connection (SSL) is active
8) You cannot view video using QuickTime Player on some sites.
9) Plug-ins for MS Outlook 2007 are not available.

current version updater fail.. cause shut down..... damn! need to download this update and c how..

what do you mean slow down your PC? i think your Karspesky scanning your system, that's why you felt slowliness...

Hi guys... anyone of u use Kaspersky on AMD Dual core will it slow down while in gaming...? Because i check it recommended in Pentium D and Duo core....
I heard that kaspersky is a very good antivirus...out there.....

I am using the version 6.0.2.621 now, but it looks like slow down my computer performance very much especially when you open a new program. Any constraints that I using the Pentium 4 2.80G (not Dual Core) for installed this program?

try NOD32 its least memory hogging AV i know of.

I tried already, the NOD32 really used less resource but as I know, NOD32 cannot update the virus defination without online. The NOD32 not like kaspersky can download the virus defination to update, so I cannot update it.

haiyaa. dun wan slow down, pasang ram tinggi2 maa. hehehe.

kaspersky doesnt work for me
after i installed, my internet bandwidth no more
off the firewall deosnt help also
