Placed my order of Z5 on last Saturday, can't wait to get my hand on it, first gaming laptop, was a desktop user then went to console now back to pc gaming but with laptop!

Just been there for 2 hours+, saw few orders of s series too, looks like illegear is growing rapidly, congrats and keep up the good work, maintain the good service and get even better which benefit all of us, LOL!

There will be a 7% surcharge.
Example: machine pricex 1.07 / 24 = your monthly pay

Hi StenCL,

Latest ETA from Toshiba is end this month / early next month.

If ordering without the Toshiba 1TB SSHD, it will take 2 to 4 working days. Currently we are running Malaysia Day specials with free 16GB RAM upgrade and so on.
*
Can we get those offer since we just order it like few days ago, order yet to be complete tongue.gif

Finally got my Z5 on Friday! Had to wait until finish work, got home and open box at midnight so sorry for the lousy photo quality, it was taken by mobile without proper lighting but I just don't care since I care more on the laptop itself than the photo quality whistling.gif

Been busy with setting up the laptop, transfer the files, install some games to test the performance, even open up to add another extra piece of memory (4gb) but forgot to take photo of the internal parts.

So I went to Illegear today to get my laptop fixed. I thought I'll have to leave the laptop there and come back later to get it (maybe after work or later in the week).

But no, I was asked to have a seat, and then the boss moved on to take out a new screen and change it on the spot. It only took about 15 minutes I think.

After that, all is well! I am impressed with the great service!

I highly recommend Illegear!

PS. Maybe this should be in the front page review as well.  biggrin.gif
*
That's very impress thumbup.gif
After sale service is one of the reason I chosen illegear in the first place.

illegear warranty service is top notch..

last time i went to illegear and princej changed the motherboard in my z5 within 3 hours..no other brand except dell will do that
*
I used to be Dell supported, heck I was even an employee few years back. Despite their service is good the quality seem to be dropped compared to before,.
After compared the spec of alienware 15 with z5, I decided to give illegear a try this time after saw so many good review icon_rolleyes.gif

Been using my Z5 for almost 2 months and so far I'm very satisfied with the performance  biggrin.gif

btw guys, how do you clean the dust from the twin vents at the bottom of the laptop? There is like a fan shape dust accumulated at both of the vents.  hmm.gif
*
My 2cent.

Fast way and not so efficient: Turned off the laptop and use a vacuum to suck it back out from the bottom of the vent
Slow way but efficient: Open the bottom and do cleaning for everything

For me..alienware still has a much better solid build compared to the z5..if I got a choice to choose either alienware or z5, I will still go for alienware
*
No doubt the build is solid but the plastic really feel cheap. My X51 the first day I got it got some squick sound when I press the casing but it does serve me well. Never use alienware laptop before but played with me several times, yes it is solid.

However my alienware x51 motherboard was screwed up by Dell's recommended BIOS update, when call up their technical support, that person told me it is not advisable to upgrade the BIOS as it happened to many other users as well, I was like WTF, why you put up as recommended update then? mad.gif And due to out of warranty changing it will cost me 1k for a old motherboard and no guarantee will fix. rclxub.gif

Bro.. I don't understand.. Why did u buy the x51 what u could have get a beast desktop with very good specs at that price??
*
Simple reason, I like the design of the casing. As a matter of fact, I just built my PC like 2 months then I bought the X51 and gave the better desktop to my brother just for the sake of the look of it to be a better match beside my xbox in the living room at that time. tongue.gif

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Sep 24 2015, 08:18 PM)
Alienware desktop build quality.. Equivalent to garbage can.

Pretty cheap stuff they use in it.
My opinion Build quality laptops..
Apple
Asus rog 17s
Giga lines looks good.. Too early to tell
Msi GTs
Clevos 7xx/8xx Ds
Lenovo Thinkpads X series

Z5 is 70:30 Inside components looks well build. Caps etc.
compare that with other compal nl8s u find out there.
Base etc good build.
Its just that glossy screen but seriously any more solid or thicker than this.. Extra weight.
*
Definitely not worth to get any of the pre-made desktop IMHO, you can always get a better parts and cheaper price if you build it yourself. Well, people buy it for a reason, just like people around me don't understand why want to spend so much for a gaming laptop when you can get a way more power desktop.

Build quality laptop will still fail, after sale service is more important. My bro in law MacBook spoiled twice though and the fees to repair ain't cheap.

I want to see you bringing your desktop all over the world for gaming.  wink.gif
*
Like I said, people buy gaming laptop for a reason which is mobility. However with compact gaming desktop like x51 it is possible to bring around as long as the place you stay provide a hdmi tv, if not then it is ridiculous to carry a lcd monitor with you around. Although possible I ain't going to do that though... LOL

QUOTE(EXkurogane @ Sep 30 2015, 04:45 PM)
4 days into using this laptop, very happy so far.

I only installed Chrome in addition to Edge, didnt install Firefox, but there's this plugincontainer.exe thingy (which is usually associated with firefox) magically managed to max out my cpu usage, a core i7 cpu, to 100% and made the whole machine sluggish. I got mad and instead of disabling it I totally deleted the exe file from my drive C's program data folder.

And I noticed the Chrome browser had a tendency to spam ads on all 4 sides and also at the corners (right left top bottom) of any webpage I opened - it never happened on my old laptop. Erasing plugincontainer.exe somehow reduced its occurrence but it still happens to some sites and I don't know why, even when I have adblock installed.

I like windows 10 and the Edge browser a lot so far in terms of performance, but almost every browser felt unpolished yet when used on windows 10. Chrome had only a 32 bit version.
*
I never had such issue with chrome before, your case seem weird, are you sure not caused by malware/adware? Anyway, I don't use chrome on Z5, only use Edge and IE11 for different needs, so far works fine for me though.

Could have been a browser adware i think, which was installed together with other software i installed on my own (and nope, i wasnt even asked the permission to install this or that toolbox where i need to tick/untick some checkboxes. I always read every installation steps in detail). That adware doesnt really do anything other than spamming ads all over the place and using up more resources in the process; the ads contain legit stuff like Lazada and Aliexpress stuff.
*
I wouldn't want a software to spam ads all over the place sweat.gif
