Hi there. My name is Faris Azri Aswandi (from Sarawak though currently studying in UiTM). I guess you can add me up as the owner of the Z7. I just received it today. So far, I am rather disappointed since the laptop seem to have a problem connecting to sites other than google, youtube and facebook. I am supposed to bring it back to Illegear so they can take a look though without transport and free time (close to finals), that might take a while. I will update back later if the problem is fixed. Though the customer service are very responsive to chat which is good.

Any solution from you guys will be appreciated.

Hi Faris,

Thank you for your patronage and welcome to the club.

For the problem of connecting to sites other than google, youtube and facebook, please check whether your internet service provider has blocked the internet access first, according to live chat you are connecting to an university network.

As per checking your order details, the laptop doesn't come with DOS, which OS did you install?

The wifi has no problem with it. I am using my Asus right next to my Z7 and my Asus has no problem at all surfing the web. I had you guys install the free 30 days Windows 8.1 on it and that is what I am currently using. Searching online rigorously I found very few solutions. Good thing is, the problem is now resolved. I am not sure why it can't before and why it can suddenly connect to other sites.

Though, I want to ask how do you guys stop the laptop from automatically charging at 95% while plugged in? I am kinda worried about overcharging my Z7 since the battery is so hard to be removed. By the way, is there an audio driver I should download because the audio is very weak. Even my phone is much much louder than my Z7 at full volume.

Thanks. I will be adding reviews on this laptop after a few weeks of testing. A lot of reviews come when the laptops are still new but I am sure people would be eager to learn about the condition of the laptops after long use.

Hi, is it normal for my Z5 when plugged in battery at 95% and show NOT CHARGING. I previously do not have this issue, only not charging when 100%. Argh, now 94% not charging. ==
*
I read somewhere in this forum that it is normal. That's what I am trying to get for my battery actually (though I still don't know how) but my Z7 will charge 100%. I think it is safer to keep it at 95% than 100%.

Is it normal for the region where the screen and laptop is connected by hinge (macro mouse and power button area) to get uncomfortably hot?

I am not sure why, but my screen tears badly during cinematic for example in Dragon's Dogma cinematic but when I review the recording in Shadowplay, there is no tearing whatsoever. I wasn't expecting this from a Skylake i7 and GTX 970M 6GB. It is already optimized by Nvidia during play. Is there a setting I should tinker with or what?

Hi celdric,

You may send it back and we will check.
Hi kirk,

We just dropped the price to RM4099, it was RM4699 before.
The heatsink is placed underneath the hinge area of course that side is during gaming session. It's not underneath the palm rest like some other gaming laptops.

I see. Though, I wasn't gaming at that time. Still, since this laptop eats a lot of energy, I have to keep the adapter attached most of the time so I can just put the fan speed to max.

I still can't find any solution for the screen tearing during my Dragon's Dogma. Though it is fine when playing Crysis 3. Any solution?

Is it normal for Z7 to have problem surfing the web? I am not sure if it is missing internet protocols or what but I can't seem to find the solution after many days. IE can go to some sites fine but chrome and mozilla can't. Chrome and mozilla also can't go to gmail or google for that matter of fact. Suddenly today, even IE can't google. I don't think it is the wifi problem because I can surf just fine on my phone.

Hi Faris,

You can send in for checking your network if you wish, it's too hard to identify the root cause with limited information provided here.

Such problem can be caused by many factors including your network provider (most likely), driver/software, your installed OS or the WIFI adapter itself.

Thanks.

May I know how long would it usually take? On a tight schedule with all the tests and finals.

Anyone else have problem with internet connection using the Z series? I use the Z7 and seem to always have internet problem. My roomate has excellent internet meanwhile I keep getting no internet. When I use my mobile data, it also won't work, saying no valid IP address. Last week it worked fine on mobile data, tethered and hotspot, so I was wondering if there's an update on drivers or whatever because I can't even do my thesis like this.

When I received the Z7 last semester, the laptop had various connection problems as well. I thought it was fixed somehow so I didn't pursue the matter in the forums but getting internet problem again is really wearing my patience thin.

Hi there, anyone ever experienced this problem before? It suddenly says no battery detected even though I never even unscrew the laptop, let alone remove the battery. Laptop model is Z7.

Macrokeys on Z5 Pascal is discontinued, Z7 still remains.
Hi can you send in for checking?
If your processor is 4th gen, your ram is DDR3L 1600MHz.

This is when it was unplugged. Although, earlier this morning, I can't even turn it on without plugging it. Any idea?
