Hello guys,

Well cut to the chase, what is the main reason you guys choose Iriz over Myvi or any other cars that fall under the budget ?
*
Safety is the main reason as this Iriz is the birthday gift to my dad. Hardly can find similar features from other B segment cars. So far, my dad and I are happy with this car.

Anybody here change the stock tyre to a better one? the 1.6 version. care to share the brand, price and experience maybe
*
I've changed mine to Toyo Teo Plus. With trade-in of four stock tyre (RM400), I only had to pay RM600 for the Toyo tyres. The road noise is much reduced and comfortable as compared to the stock tyres. As long as you use the same size tyres, it should not be any problem.

you do know using the power outlets in vehicle decreases battery and alternator life span right?  sad.gif

I am not sure whether the alternator life span will be compromised or not. It is my first time hearing this concern. wink.gif
BTW, does anyone here receive the EWP document from multi insurance company for the extended 7 years warranty? I have not yet received mine since last June.

GUYS, i have a serious question. Whenever I read a post about Proton elsewhere, why do people condemn Proton so much? What did Proton ever did to them? Makes me feel a lil guilty that Malaysians are against their own National Car. I know proton was doing bad previously, but i think now they've improved significantly over the past year.

My experience with Proton:

1 - Proton Perdana V6 2000 keeping it till NOW, overhauled gearbox once at year 10

2. Proton Saga Aeroback 2001 - Kept it till 2011, no Major Problem. sold it and bought a Savvy

3. Proton Savvy Mid Spec- 2011 till now, finding a buyer to sell my car off. No major issues, just had to maintain gearbox carefully

4. Proton Preve Mid Spec - 2014 , bought for my uncle. No major problem except expensive spare parts

5. Proton Iriz 1.6 Exec AT- 2015, to replace my Savvy.

I dont have any major problems with my proton, even my f30 BMW has steering rack issues but people dont seem to care about it because its a conti car?

Malaysians should change their mindset. Proton has come from a loooong way to now.

Bashers are always gonna bash Proton, they'll have to open up their eyes

I think that most Malaysian hate Proton due to the protection from government in its early years. Therefore, they purposely set a very high expectation on Proton cars and magnify the minor issues. Frankly speaking, Proton has already improved lots in recent years even though there are still lots of improvements needed.

With its small economic of scale, it's already quite impressive that Proton manages to produce cars with such specs. Malaysian should really respect their efforts and not to bash it blindly.

Need some tips on this........read from this forum someone recommend felton multi tray medium size from mr.diy.......i just bought one unit and try putting into our iriz boot but it seems a little big to install. .......any advice on putting it into our iriz's boot?......thanks a million

I now have the infamous knocking sound on my dashboard, at the passenger side too......also rear passenger side seat belt making noise when it's being pull and retract
*
Just cut the edge of the tray as shown in the attachment and it will fit nicely into the boot.

Just went to first service today, the SC use petronas syntium 1000 15w-50 EO. I thought the recommended grade is 10w-30? Anyone face this issue too? Btw first service total cost rm266, petronas syntium 1000 15w-50 cost alone rm212 included gst.
*
15w-50 is a bit too thick and might lead to higher FC.
BTW, I think that Syntium 1000 15W-50 is of API SM grade.
Personally I prefer to use SN grade engine oil rather than SM grade.

I thought the recommended fully synthetic is Syntium 3000 5W-40?
