It is possible to reflash the TCU as we had managed to read it out from CAN obd2.
The throttle response can be improves with remap/tuning process.

Btw some understanding on CVT gearbox and the characteristic on how the gearbox shift.

At 'D' position this is how gearing looks like

At 'Sports Mode' the gearing is more aggressive

In other word,if u want to hold shift gear at higher rpm press the pedal more.haha

Have a read further here from my fb

All my customer ASX have this smell(cabin rubber engine smell). Quite dizzy if you not used to the smell
Very annoying, some even have the air diverter from engine/window automatically shut down, means the air will be taken from engine bay rather than circulate.

Some opt for ionizer, and some do extra sealing on the rear bonnet and dashboard.

If the rubbery during spirited driving, thats the CVTTTTTTT's
CVT's are not design for spirited driving.hahaha

I've just test driven the pre-FL model and found the driving experience to be quite pleasant. However, after about 15 minutes of somewhat spirited driving, I began noticing the so-called burnt rubber smell in the cabin. Has this issue been resolved in the 2015 FL version?

Also, does anyone know if the NVH of the 2015 FL has improved?

Does the 'tweaked transmission' in the 2015 FL actually bring any improvements to the driving experience, especially on pick-up from standstill?

Would very much appreciate the feedback of anyone who's tested both pre-FL and FL.  notworthy.gif

hi maserati , i'm a mitsubishi tuner, you can look me up at fb sideq salleh or ss engineering
yes, almost all asx have the engine bay smell. please test ride your asx and whack out of it,you will get 2 distinguish smell.
at 1st might be irritating but you will get used to it.

Hi,

Are you by any chance affiliated with Mitsubishi? When you mentioned 'my customers', I'd assume you are.

Do you happen to know what causes it? This is a real letdown as I've actually just booked my car. I've had the 2007 vtec city before and that comes with a cvt. In fact many other cars come equipped with cvts but the asx seems to be the only one plagued with such issues.

So what you're saying is, the smell comes from two sources at the same time - from the car itself and also from the cvt when going fast. This is seriously worrying.

yes its the same issue where the aircon recirculation take air from engine bay. sometimes the recirculate default to engine bay rather than cabin

and the exhaust tip too short, exhaust smell go into cabin from rear. some of my customer opt for longer exhaust tips(plug and play type)

I have the engine smell whenever I rev it till around 4K RPM, went back to service center to complain and they mentioned there is leaking from exhaust system to air con system.

Got it fixed and now no more smell, is it probably the same issue as I have?
