just choose T-mobile if you want SIM free and unlocked set (if not mistaken, it'll ship with a T-mobile SIM card with no SIM ejector, just use something to remove the SIM card and put your own one in).

ok thank you, t-mobile all reserver dy, only left verizon

FYI this time around it's easier to service imported iPhones. I talked with a rep at VR Tech (Megan Avenue 2, KL) and he said they can only service iPhone models that are sold in Malaysia/Singapore.

For iPhone 6/6+, that meant the Sprint model.

For iPhone 6s/6s+, that means the Verizon/T-Mobile/Sprint model. AT&T model is different, and will not be serviceable in Malaysia.

However, this time around Apple requires US carrier account for all ONLINE iPhone orders (even when paid in full), so cannot do like last year and order it to ship to a US address. If you want to buy it and take it overseas, you'll have to buy in-store.

So, it's definitely easier to get it from AU/HK/SG, even they can be up to RM 1000 more expensive due to exchange rates.

if you pay for any iPhone full-price in official Apple retail store, it will be factory unlocked. to ensure warranty peace of mind, get any US model EXCEPT for AT&T.

One thing about the SIRIM entries I noticed they have both models of iPhone (AT&T and Global). Last year they only had the model sold in Asia. (Sprint aka Global)

Now to wait for plans to be outed by the telcos. Will go to whoever offers iPhone with 5GB monthly data at reasonable price. (so probably Umobile or Celcom and not Maxis haha)

Me too. But are you going with telco or outright? I'm not gonna have much of a choice but to go with telco, since I'd be getting the 128 GB 6s Plus

Why better buy from Apple Online Store than from Mac Studio,Switch and etc?
*
After sales service. Online iPhones are sold directly by Apple Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. If there's an issue with your phone, they will send you a new one first, before you give them your old one. You’re not stuck without a phone basically.

Resellers don't work this way.

The Verge and NYT webpages are heavy enough. No Force Closes. As for webpages that aren't formatted to mobile, brute-force surfing it with beefier hardware isn't the answer: the webpage itself needs an efficient mobile version. Like running outdated versions of Flash when everyone else already running HTML5, that is not helping, even when beefier hardware can run them, you'd be running the battery down as well if you continue browsing it too.
*
FWIW I don't have an issue loading them on my 6+ (not 6s+) now. Even when I turn off content blockers. Everything just takes longer to finish loading.

I use Adblock Fast on iOS 9. It's faster than Purify, and is free. It's only con is no whitelisting option for sites you want to support, unlike Purify which has that.

To think I will get this 6s from Digi, would it be good to sell right away? Coz I just want the plan. Normally how much the price decrease? or should it remain the same?
*
Im sure many people will be willing to buy, me included. Just sell it at DiGi pricing. IMO, the telcos just reuse the pricing from last year, maybe add on a couple hundred RM.

i'm getting rose gold. yes i agree it looks pinkish. but i think in real life it will look less like that. i heard it only looks pink in neutral bright light. so in natural light or outside light it should look more coppery.

+ i plan on getting the imos corning screen protector in black. so i have black front with gold back.

nope, just checked apple msia, difference is RM500, and usually the 64gb model of 6 is same price as 16gb model of 6+...

so which means 6s plus base model 3599 + 500 = 4099
*
that means a 128 GB 6s+will be RM 4599. At least its not over RM 5k lol.

4 things why i like iphone..

1. ios
2. camera
3. resale value
4. 1 billion of casing   laugh.gif
*
for me it's like:

1. iOS ecosystem (bought a lot of paid apps)
2. iTunes (so easy to manage apps and music, by far the best music library organiser imo)
2. accessories (too many cases/screen protectors until I don't know which to pick haha)
3. resale value (last year i bought 128 GB 6+ for RM 3100, now i can still sell it for 90% of what i paid)

camera is good, but i don't use it much. but i do take lots of selfies when with friends so the front cam upgrade is really tempting me haha.

I haven't been on iPhone and only own a few iPads before, this time plan to get the 64GB 6s Plus Rose Gold but but 4k+ for a phone, I don't know how to convince myself to justify this purchase...

All this while I bought phones outright without tying to any plan, looks like I will have to do that this time...

I know 6 and 6 Plus' differences are the latter has OIS and better battery life, are they still the same for 6s and 6s Plus?
*
yes. except this time 6s+ OIS also works for video. last year OIS for 6+ only for photos.

also 6(s) screen is 720p HD, 6(s)+ is 1080p HD.

here also seems to have quite a few. everyone so ganas with their phone. i don't understand how they crack the whole screen too - i dropped my phone one time and i all i got was a tiny tiny crack near the impact point. it's either like you said, or they use their iPhone to stop bullets or something haha.

btw. anyone can share experience of using the self-healing inner exile hydra case? especially after a year of use? oh and where to get it? the website don't seem to have a store.

your 128 GB  6+ is cheaper leh... why we brought at RM3500ish where you only buy 3100ish...
*
directly imported from US thats why cheaper. i did it because i wanted the verizon model.
now its a pain ‘cause warranty claim is troublesome - dealing with apple care now.

this year the 128 GB 6s+ is around RM 500 cheaper (if we're going by RM 4700 RRP)

and another good thing is the unlocked gsm model they sell in the US = the model sold in asia.
so warranty will have no issue claiming (according to vr tech, aasp in megan avenue 2 KL).

last year, the us gsm model != asia model - you'd have to get Sprint version.

you got verizon model? the guys at apple store new york told me to get t-mobile, but t-mobile always dont have a stock
*
all verizon iPhones are factory unlocked, as required by US law. whether on contract or not, IINM.

and starting from september 2015, ALL iPhones are factory-unlocked when bought from Apple directly at full price.

for warranty peace of mind, buy sprint/verizon/t-mobile. that's the model sold in asia. DO NOT BUY AT&T.

since Malaysia launching so fast I don't see the reason to buy US set.
By the way, AT&T will still be locked set even if bought outright, but AT&T makes it a lot easier to unlock it now.
*
agree, re: Malaysia launch. but the rest actually not true, according to here. sebastien page from idownloadblog also said it works with at&t.

QUOTE(winkiedilwy @ Oct 6 2015, 12:57 AM)
1) it kinda depends on country tho. So far i only know US and Singapore set is fully unlocked. Need more info regarding other countries. UK still got locked set.
*
IINM the iPhone model for 3 UK is unlocked. they're like britain's t-mobile.

QUOTE(Boykidz93 @ Oct 6 2015, 01:13 AM)
Stil got other question
1) should I get 6s or 6s plus?
2) what the changer of 6 and 6s?
*
as for 1), i heard a saying:
QUOTE
if you don't know whether you want the 6s or 6s+, get the 6s.

because people picking the 6s+ usually have good reason to do so already. like maybe their hands are big, or they like to take more low-light photos (better with 6s+ OIS), or they just want the bigger battery, or they want people to know they got the more expensive model, etc. etc.

for 2), i recommend watching apple's 6s/+ commercial. "The only thing that's changed is everything." IMO it does a nice job summarising all the new stuff in a way friendly to non-techies (who are the only people asking this question). plus got selena gomez lol.

People should remember that those buying the 64 GB and 128 GB models are helping to keep the existence of the 16 GB model. The higher prices keeps the 16 GB model affordable, as it's designed for people who don't use their smartphones much.

That being said, do I think Apple could do better by upgrading the base model to 32 GB? Absolutely. But Apple has to think about the profit margin also. iPhone is their biggest seller, and they have to keep a comfortable margin on it to prevent company revenue from being reduced. The US$100 difference goes a long way when we're talking about ~90 million iPhones.

One thing that's kinda bugging me is that the iPhone and the Watch have different slant angles. The iPhone is like more sheer, while the Watch seems less slanted.
