kanthal coil yes. my last derringer i think i change was like May on single coil. But i often change wicks and clean it well with water then do dry burn as well. The coil seems fine so didnt bother to change

using RBA/OCC?
RBA is the one you make your own coil
OCC is the one pakai buang one

Wicking is the cotton you sumbat into the coil on the RBA
if you are using the OCC, lower your wattage

RBA for sure better performance than OCC
