Planning to move to oversea long term and keep my Malaysia SIM card number for receiving SMS tac code in future but not using mobile data.

Is it
setting - mobile data - mobile data options - data roaming OFF. (To turn off internet data)

But the Mobile data I turn ON for receiving SMS?

Will be using iPhone 6 as my second device just for receiving SMS.
