Getting Started

Dear Maxis,
Different centres are giving diff opinions on verification methods. Please clarify the following:
I am a supplementary user currently under a family plan. My dad who is the principal is based overseas. I will need to change my sim from MICRO to NANO as I just bought my new phone. I was told from a branch in SS2 that they require his fingerprints, where else another centre said that a signed letter is sufficient? I am not about to ask my dad to fly down over this!
Please be exact on what exactly is needed. Else, I think supplementary lines are such a hastle.

QUOTE(juks @ Sep 5 2015, 10:20 PM) Dear Maxis, Different centres are giving diff opinions on verification methods. Please clarify the following: I am a supplementary user currently under a family plan. My dad who is the principal is based overseas. Please be exact on what exactly is needed. Else, I think supplementary lines are such a hastle. Hi juks, To make a SIM card replacement for a supplementary line can only be done by the registered owner. However certain circumstances whereby the owner is unable to be available can be done under exceptionally but is still subject to the center's discretion. We advised you to have the LOA(letter of authority) from the registered owner stating your full name with your NRIC allowing you to walk in to make the changes. Do provide the contact number in the letter of the registered owner overseas in order the verification can be done. Lastly, contact us 1st before walking in as arrangements need to be done with the preferred center. This is to avoid fraudulent activation for the account. Hope this clarifies. Thank you
