Came out of retirement (stop OC'ing since socket 1151) and got myself 8700K + MSI Gaming M5

Woah so many new features since last gone into the bios years ago lol, pretty cool really, with LLC can now be tuned specifically for example.

Managed to stabilize 4.8ghz @1.220v (in bios). A little bump in voltage in CPU-Z because LLC @ Mode 3.


Anyway about this AVX thing, it's not really necessary for stress test is it? Specifically Prime95, where you can disable it in local.txt.
And what's the point to offset it where in real application 0 AVX machines won't do extreme load like with all the stress test? Perhaps for Benchmarking purpose?
My system requires 3D rendering and heavy Photoshop usage, prefer to keep the clock fully optimize.

Temp is okay, maxed 75~ish Celsius with prime95 Small FTT with AVX disable, over 2 hours. Can do better when I get some liquid metal TIMs like Thermal Grizzly. Using 240 AIO cooling.
With AVX enable straight gone into 95C
