what species are you all keeping as pets?? Im a scientist working on neuroscience field using rats and mice as model..just curious how u guys can keep it as pets.. I clean their sh1t everyday until im sick of it..and the smell of their pee is godlike

I agree that rats dont bite that often..but mice is more aggresive.. got bitten the first few days i handle them..and i didnt take tetanus shot..luckiliy lab mice are maintained in clean environment so no zoonoses...

Clean animal???good pocket pet?? they sh1t like every 5 minutes..your pocket gonna be full of sh1t..

they really are genius..especially when i test them on behavioral and learning...but i work on mice more...anyway the idea of mice and rats as pets really put me off...maybe its too much for me...

LOL..do u guys made a special toilet for your rats?? It will be cool if there's a pic of your rat's house..and hwo r they suppose to keep so much poo poo in their stomch bcuz they poo poo a few times in an hour.. so if u take them out for a walk in petaling street they will at least drop a poo poo in your pocket and a few drops of pee pee in your pocket as well..

by the way, just haf fun with your pets.. no bad intentions here..just got attracted about ppl keeping rats as pets..

i used to have gold fish when i was like 10 yrs old... that dumb ass jumped out of the pond during midnight and when i woke up the next morning its a dead fish on the floor..maybe that time i still n00b..then last 2 years i had a scorpion then it died due to old age then i preserve it now is immortal..LOL...next im getting something else which can last longer but havent decide....i would say that currentl working with mice everyday is sickening enuff for me...other than the behavioral test, collecting the shit and pee everyday..

the preserve scorpion is just a normal scorpion...juz that it is dead but still maintaining its colour and shapr...although its abit flatten la cuz the internal organs are not functioning anymore..

by the way have u guys experience taking your pocket pet out to jalan jalan and wanna show 2 your fren then suddenly the pocket pet give u a poo poo and pee pee as a present on your hand or shirt?? hows it feel? embarass or cool?

yours is rats or mouse?? if mouse run away they wont come back anymore and very hard to catch them..rats slower abit..how many u got? 2??going 2 breed them?

oic..mouse and rats are different..rats are a lot bigger in size...a baby rat = same size as adult mice.. mice cuter cuz smaller and very cheeky and playful..but will b more aggresive n bite if not familiar wif u..if familiar u can play with them cuz they more active..but once mice escape they will not come back..

both also not..wash with alcohol then mould into the shape u want then dry it in the oven for 2 - 3 months with 55 degree celcius then check to see if the whole body is dry and hard otherwise might grow fungus and other nasty stuff...

yup.. straight.. thats the benefit of working in a lab..hehe..u can use the weird equipments for your own stuff..can even analyse own dna...

but initially when the scorpion dead time i didnt go lab so just dry it under the sun for a dew days then only go lab put the scorp in the oven then come collect 2-3 months later..i could post a pic but now im in NUS.. the pic iin my com at home..

maybe scare them away..but really cant imagine cats eating rats...never seen b4 or heard b4..only in cartoon... maybe can do more research in discovery or wikipedia..
