Some ppl do go there is just to look at military vehicles and gear. I know there was this parent who dresses up their kids for a few years already in military gear there every year. I on the other hand love floats. Which ceased to exists since many years ago. You know i don't mind having military as part of the parade. But damn son... we are already Merdeka. We should be happy. We should have floats from various supporters in the country as a voice that they exist because of Merdeka.

Now we only show army, police, emergency. No really. There are no more than 2-3 public floats the whole Merdeka parade. I was very disappointed when they take the Merdeka parade to Putrjaya. There was no floats there. When they take it back to Dataran, there was still no float. Why? The excuse was no budget. Whose budget is it? But behind, so many people wanted to take part. It never happened. Its only military as main feature. Do you know what country only have military as their national day parade? I feel that. Its like we are not free anymore. We have nothing. I can't even have 1 day in the year i would want to wake up at 5am take a bus to go to Dataran just to watch parade. This was the feeling since many years ago.

Yesterday no feel at all. Even if i could hear the fireworks at Dataran on the eve. I woke up 9am today. I thought i was free, but its communism day.  doh.gif

there's actually people that like kereta berhias? blink.gif blink.gif

i always hate those things..so boring...watching gov departments, GLCs and universities on their kereta berhias..some didn't even make much effort to their kereta berhias...i remember only agriculture department, Petronas, MOSTI always make the best kereta berhias..but still boring..i hate them coz their segment always the longest, while the military/police segment the shortest...

if it were me in charge, i would scratch off the kids performance/culture dance as well and just have all-out military parade, but that would be too 'un-Independence Day'..and better call it Victory Day..like Russia and China did..
