My name's Nasri Lian, appeared in KL minute's 1 and 2, and love mag's vol 2. Nothing to boast about but just to intro myself that i've been skateboarding for 12 years already. Been skateboarding for fun and nothing else.
If you guys dig getting hard to find things or sometimes cheaper skate merchandise, you can try organizing a bulk buy from the US. Keep a look out for things on sale, it's really a bargain even with shipping included. However, malaysia is not listed in major skate shops that do int. order. Even if they do, clarify with them (ie. skatewarehouse lists Malaysia but not really due to high fraud rate statistics received from Malaysia.) But of course, try to check your local skate shops too.
The skate event in Sunway was pretty fun yet funny. it was a good experience on the skate battle thingy and the best trick was pretty sick. Mont kiara park wasn't bad at all, free red bulls, free food, meeting all the familiar faces and just skating.
I stopped skating for 2 years but got back on it, tricks are coming back and things are going somewhat good. If you guys insist on skating when it's empty, try early days at the kiara skatepark. gather or something, maybe we can share a thing or two, at least i can share something as well. I feel there's potential everywhere in the start, but sometimes it just needs that extra push to go all the way to motivate yourself. Don't watch the scene, get into it and be part of it. all the better for us, the scene and the industry.
Come by the skatepark in kiara sometime and get into the scene. Get to know yourself, your nearby peeps (LYN) and the rest of the skateboarders. It's actually a lovely social world out there without racial issues, not just malaysia but worldwide. at least that's what i've seen around me unless there's a really bad issue going on. Everyone just wants to have a good time. if learning an ollie excites you, a kickflip excites me the same way too.
Most importantly, have fun! Go skate!

short side is the tail, long side is the nose. your preference in the end but that's how most of us do it.QUOTE(zXJaMeSXz @ May 29 2008, 09:11 PM)
is there any differents skating with the front or the back? Btw what trick should I start with? Olie, shuvit and stuff?
yeap, the pop feels abit diff as one is longer. usually we'd use the tail for normal tricks, and the nose for switch or nollie.what trick should you start off with? Any trick really but i'd suggest an ollie, kickflip, heelflip, shove it. you don't have to do them by sequence, do it on your own will. Feel the trick, learn it, figure out how it should be done (ie. if i put my foot here, and do this, what will happen? experiment and learn) I myself learnt a shove it before i could ollie and ruler. ahah.
Anyhow's last post from me tonight. will bookmark this page. keep skating ya.
