If it still hasn't changed, your student visa should limit your working hours to 25 hrs/week.

So find a part time job with a fast food restaurant.

Student with student visa are allowed to work for 20 hours MAX legally per week.

It is very easy to find part time jobs in Oz. Jobs such as waiters/waitresses, cleaners, movers, shop assistants, taxi driver (if you have license and know the roads well), volunteer work, flyer distributor, promoter...well basically all kind of part time jobs. Sometime, they need asian people in some part of their advertisements or movies, they prefer to look for students as well. And if you are hardworking, working part time earns more salary than working full time in Australia.

Try to look for asians shops/restaurants, they will let you work for more than you are allowed, as I said earlier, you will end up earning more than a full timer in total.

My recommendation, get a part time job in an Aussie company(eg McD,KFC,etc) , work for 20 hours max, then go to those asians ones, and try to work out with them for allowing you to work unregistered with the gov. But this is at your own risk. Out of 10, more than 5 will be doing this to earn a living for their studies in Oz. Where do you think those asians get their money buying their cars, cigrattes, nice branded clothes, dining good in Oz. wink.gif

If you are lucky and the time is right, you may find an office job with an aussie company and you will be paid at least au$15 per hour for a max of 20 hours.

"..... we need to state on the upper of the visa's mentioning that we are working" <-- I don't get what you are trying to say in this sentence. Please clarify.

As for the "How do i get those jobs?" ... well, if you are looking for office jobs, try your friends or uni mates that are working. Their company may need some part timers like data entry or store keeper or sales people.... But on the other hand, if you are looking for those asian restaurants or shops, you just need walk-in and ask them, thats all... if you are afraid to ask, they won't know you are looking for a job. As for McD or KFC or those fast food, usually they have these job recruitment posters nearby their cashier. If you sees them, means they are looking for someone, and all you need to do is to ask them for an application form. Usually these kind of Ozzie fast food chains are looking for Juniors....which I guess for those either in their last year of high school or under 20 yrs of age. But, no harm trying. It would be better if you could go to suburbs that has more asians, and these kind of suburb tends to hire more asians to serve asians. smile.gif

As for the pay, I guess it depends on the state you are in and also the location (city or suburb). Usually it range from Au$6-10 in Queensland. And for offices, my experience is at least AU$13 per hour to a max of $17.

And if you are willing to work in farms..fruit picker or sorter or packer...you get better pay ..over AU$20 per hour.

Good pay huh....but just remember what is your main purpose of going to Oz... don't neglect that....

Cheers!
Kenz

Well, first of all, I am not offering the job... I am not even in Oz anymore.. wink.gif

But, if you are planning to study in a Uni that is located in the regional areas (OUT of city), it would be easy and nearby for you to look for farm jobs. And if your Uni is in city area, sometimes they put postings of job vacancy in the Uni's notice boards, but usually it will not be close to your Uni at all and you will need to travel a few hours to the regional area to work. Besides that, if your Uni has those student guild webby, they tend to post in the job listing there or you can look for the International Student Service desk for help. They have lots of contacts for accomodations, jobs, info of everything you need to know as an International Student. Some of farm jobs provide you with accomodation for a few days where you can work for a few days back to back if you have no lessons for a few days or during the weekends.

Jobs like this usually need lots of energy and stamina where you may work under the HOT sun or the COLD weather if you are a fruit picker or farmer. You pick fruits from the farm or estate where there is no shade at all. Or you can be the sorter or packer in the factory or farm where someone else pick the produce and you pack or sort the fruits out according to the requirements (size or color or whatever).

Ah, another good-pay job in Oz is the labourer. Good pay but you need alot of energy and stamina and GOOD sleep everyday. Very tiring job. For labourer, you can easy get a job nearer to the city area compared to farms. Where you work in factories, construction yards, quaries or ... anywhere, that you think might need you to carry very heavy stuffs or do task that need your strength. I am not sure of the salary range, but if I am not mistaken, my friends are getting like $25 per hour or more for carrying heavy boxes up and down in factories. Something like 'kuli'...but in Oz they have professional names for the all jobs; "labourer".

Anyway, I hope this helps. You can easily find part time jobs in Oz, because Oz'ies being local on Oz prefer full time rather than part time. Just think of you being in Malaysia, do you want to work as part time when you have chance to work as a full timer? Most of the part time jobs are given to the foreigners as their salary is cheaper and willing to work.
