QUOTE
The first food of the fry varies from person to person, but most of them shared a common thread - the vast majority use hard-boiled egg yolk as a staple, from as early as the first day of feeding. A tiny amount is either mashed into water and fed a few drops at a time, or crumbled directly into the tank twice a day. Fry grow very quickly on this protein-rich diet, and even the smallest fry can swallow the tiny particles of egg yolk that are dissolving in the water.

also the female is the one which is bigger in size. females are bigger than males, but fins are smaller and less attractive.

nope, the yolk that dissolves will be the food for the fry, you can try to put in little by little and don't crush it too much.

find a ketapang tree and get the brown leaves that fall off, crush it then put it into the water. google for pictures of the leaf, it's sometimes reddish colour too before it turns brown i think.

put ketapang leaf better ar?..

hmmm..anyways, now my fish swim in very weird style la...izzit sick d?..swim till half will stop d wor
*
ketapang leaf is normally used for fighting fish to try and suit their environment to its original home so that the colours of their fin can be more vibrant, bright and colourful. so i don't think it's necessary for guppies.

and explain what you mean by swim halfway then stop? is it the babies? if it is then yeah they do that sometimes, like they dart around then stop, look around then dart again. but would be better if you explain more on how they swim then stop halfway.

chiobu how are your guppies now? it may help if you put some water plants or algae so that they can eat and also neutralise the water?

hi, newbie here.. may keep fish in the future.. before that, i want to ask some Qs..
what's the cost of keeping guppy per month? do they need planted grass or big aquarium? can i keep in the fish bowl? what do i need to feed them with? how often should i change the water?

many thanks in advance!
*
erm, i dunno how to estimate the cost but it's really cheap la. you can choose an aquarium or fish bowl, any will work. it would be better if you put some greens in it, they like to eat algae so it'll be good if you got an area where algae can grow easily. other than that, you can feed the fish flakes which you can get at pet shops. water change, erm.. once or twice a week?
