hey there been thinking of starting an aquarium lately
i saw my friend's mini tank and he suggested me the same which is a 9.5" x 4.7" x 5.5" plastic tank without filter or pump
there's 7 guppy inside, 2 of it females.
gravels on bottom and minimal decors
he said when start, fill the tank, put in 2 cap of chlorine remover few drops of : -anti white spot -fungus solution -general aid
let the water be for a while before adding the guppies in
he has his for around few months. no casualties he said
feasible ka?
planning to put it on top of shoe rack which is inside the house, gets some sunlight but not direct
water change should be once a week?
might be feeding it once a day, perhaps dinner time

QUOTE(tehoice @ Mar 3 2015, 11:58 PM) everyone has their own way of keeping, if you know what you're doing and you can handle it, then no problem. but given the situation you mentioned above, i think it's quite a risk. i won't put my 200 bucks guppy in there/like this. the killer part is the weekly water change. i would do at least 30-40 or even 50% of water change every 2-3 days. noted about the water change cycle.

QUOTE(tehoice @ Mar 4 2015, 12:04 AM) the key is the water condition, if its healthy, then your fish will too be healthy. keep the water running with air pump for 2 days before changing. i always do that. at least 1 day. but some ppl just use direct filtered water treated with anti chlorine, no deny that you can keep it that way too, it's all about sharing, the way he mentioned was to treat with anti chlorine with additional of anti white spot, fungus solution and general aid solution during the first stage before letting in the fish in as he's not running any air pump oh yeah, i did forgot to mention, he's not running air pump

QUOTE(danny_sp15 @ Mar 1 2015, 12:23 AM) Thanks for your suggestions Stopped by a petshop today, they're selling Ottos for 4.50 each. They seem to work really hard sucking every inch of the aquarium, but I'm just worried it might not be as hardy as the guppies and might not survive the pond. The Golden Chinese Algae Eaters i have are not helping much with controlling the algae. The black gravel in the aquarium is kinda okay i guess. Not too sharp, but I wouldnt say smooth. The guppies seem to be okay for now. Not sure if it will be safe for corydoras or ottos. Sharing pics Bro, I wanna ask about the tank u have there. How many litres capacity? And the table you assembled can take on the weight? Where to get it?

QUOTE(danny_sp15 @ May 26 2015, 07:38 PM) to be honest. not much changed. macam very slow growing. and the number is less than before. likely kena makan by the adults ady. but now got new batches since i let the males mix with the females again just temporary arrangement while waiting for my aquarium to be ready like 100% covered? cos my gf guppy tank also like 90% covered. only got a small slit for air (like1.5mm). the guppy still can jump out. landed on her desk. by the time she notice, almost kering ady. then put back in water, back to life. 1.5mm or 1.5cm?
