Suspect the soil in the submerge Centella pot causing the water polluted. , outdoor tank not easy... I have taken out the pot and change half tank of the water and see how. |

QUOTE(frequency @ Jun 22 2017, 12:03 AM) too bad, the guppies and molly all almost ko Sometimes outdoor tank is a but trickier. I had once experience, that almost all my guppies in a "well" pond outside died one by one. No idea why, coukd be the cement.Suspect the soil in the submerge Centella pot causing the water polluted. , outdoor tank not easy... I have taken out the pot and change half tank of the water and see how. But after a month or so, no more dying. Maybe cycling a pond/well takes longer times. |

Guys, I've been trying to set up a guppy tank for quite some time. After about 6 weeks of trying my guppies are still dying. Water quality so far seems good and I believe my tank is fully cycled. However the guppies keep getting fin rot and one just died. Another four seemed to have something going on with their fins and I am worried. Any suggestions on what I can do? Thanks!!
Btw, I got this dodgy medicine reccomended from the local aquatic store that says "Aquadine: gill fungus parasite special". I have quarantined the four ill looking guppies and added this medication. However I cannot find the active ingredient listed. I am wondering if I should add this medication into my main tank. I am worried that the medication will kill off the bacteria I have in my media. Thanks again in advance for your kind advice. QUOTE(Al3x0174 @ Mar 31 2017, 02:57 PM) It was one of the new fishes I brought. Stopped the spread of bacteria already. The rotting stop. Everything back to normal May I know how you stopped the bacteria? Thanks! This post has been edited by Kain_Sicilian: Jun 28 2017, 09:00 AM |

Have you try to perform a massive water change ? in the meantime, i think is best you transferred those healthy one to a quarantine tank first. |

QUOTE(bartbarb @ Jun 28 2017, 10:27 AM) u need to drill down the root cause of your fin rot. Thanks for your kind reply. Yes I did 50% water change for the the past two days. Three more died today. I have some 12 other tetras in the same tank as well. I did not notice any bullying and fin nipping. The remaining 3 guppies seems very active. I am afraid my quarantine tank is not large enough for 3 guppies plus 12 tetras. Also, I am using another spare tank I have to contain my female guppy who seems like she's gonna give birth anytime soon. Maybe it's because I recently bought new fishes? I bought 3 new tetras a couple of days ago and added the to the tank (no water from the LFS added to my tank, just the fishes). Have you try to perform a massive water change ? in the meantime, i think is best you transferred those healthy one to a quarantine tank first. Is there any medication that I can use just in case?? |

Hi all!
Recently picked up guppy rearing, and am just wondering if there are any recommended shops in PJ/KL to stock up on guppies. I've recently moved from Penang and is still clueless on where are the frequented shops. |
