Want to ask a question, me and my wife is considering renting a place in TR Residence. We talked to someone not sure if owner or agent about viewing a unit and he is asking us a RM200 refundable application fee before viewing and if we are not interested we will be refunded immediately.

We agreed but we told him we will pay him on the day of viewing (means cash) as we are not comfortable banking in/transferring money to someone we haven't met yet (sound scam if you ask me)

This is the first time I have encountered something like this paying RM200 to view a unit you are planning to rent out

I have been a tenant and landlord in last 10 years (not TR) and never heard of such application fee to view. It's a scam.

Was thinking the same thing, when we proposed we pay cash on the day of viewing (Tomorrow 17/07) he didn't answer back and cannot give us a reason if this is standard procedure for TR Residences when viewing a unit.

I asked here to check if this is SOP for this condo.
