Hi guys

So with this new 5% Dining weekend cashback , maybank is using this merchant category code to ensure the entitlement. How can we know what is the merchant category code for a restaurant? or fast food? from the receipt? from the CC statement?

Thanks

As per reported, make a call to CS will do.

Otherwise, you can refer from statement when out

thank you for the info...i can see nothing stated inside the statement and receipt, so have no other option but to call the CS

Not so anymore but well life has to go on.
5xTP = 1.25% is still better than nothing...

Is there anyone here having both Maybank's conventional CC together with Maybank's Ikhwan card under same name?

Coz I just applied Ikhwan and my application was rejected. I know for a fact that when Maybank first introduced the Islamic Ikhwan card, customers are not allowed to have both conventional and Islamic cards at the same time.

Is this still true?

Credit card approval is subjected to your income and commitments.
I have Platinum dual cards but I applied for Ikhwan gold, yet still approved and start using the card within 3 weeks from day applied. Best of all, Ikhwan's credit limit are not the same as my dual cards.

ooh...probably I can try gold next time...can I just retry now or should I wait?

you can try:

1. split your conventional credit limit to this islamic one
2. convert your conventional credit card to this
*
i guess they usually need to split between the right?

about converting...i still would like to hold on my amex2card still for now

nope. conventional and Islamic are two different entities. you get different credit limit, not shared
*
hhmm..thought so, cause principle wise, the products are different

Ask the officer or wait for 6 months.
For me as a PW member, I just go to the branch and ask them. Fast and safe.

thank you for the advise thumbup.gif

Mine was rejected too. They told me its because they cant give me anymore credit limit.

QUOTE(alexanderclz @ Mar 5 2016, 04:22 PM)
well, since they can't give u anymore, you can request to split some for Ikhwan. even rm2k is enough
*
you are correct, it is not like we want to use the whole thing, we just want cashback thumbup.gif
