Hi all, newbie here.

I've read alot about this thread, just want some suggestion from you guys, i wanted a credit card that able to do installment e.g. PS4, or iphone 6. (Maybe for 12 month repayment)

Which card is suitable for me? My salary is below 3k.

Thank you in advance. smile.gif

Maybank2Cards is already sufficient. However, must be RM 2.5k and above per month.
EpiCentre and Harvey Norman have installment plan for Maybank cards.

However, as a piece of advice, don't start with installments, it is no good for your saving in long term. Buy only if you can afford. smile.gif

Also take note of the finance charges. Certain outlet will charge 4% finance charges even though is 0% installment.

Last I heard, Aeon Big doesnt have any charges, but I am not sure.

The high class mamak food price is anytime more than regular mamak by 10%, so if you get 5% cashback also not worth it. Hahaha

No surcharges are allowed even for installment or CC usage.

If they do charge, go ahead and lodge a complaint with BNM / VISA / Master and etc.

But I don't think Harvey will charge.

Because of GST, you charge surcharge, you'll end up with a massive headache later tongue.gif

Some telecommunication shop will have this surcharge, the reason being is the bank charge them, so they bring this to the consumer... so i believe this can be complain-able?

I did make an extensive research on this topic last time.

And the reply I received from global governing body ( Visa / Master ) is the same.

There should NOT be any surcharges.

It's also stated in the terminal rental agreement.

Customers are not to be charged with the surcharge.

So go ahead and be anal. Complaint non-stop until they refund you.

I received a refund before due to this surcharge by a camera shop.

Great to hear that and Good work you have done! rclxms.gif

This means I have paid some surcharges already to them. Well I think can't be refunded due to long time ago, ie more than 9 months and more.

If you ever faced this problem, what should you do? By the way is the research available for reading/maybe in this subforum? notworthy.gif

The staff thinks it's not necessary to have such thread so I am not too sure where's the research went to already laugh.gif

Depends on how they manipulate.

If they manipulate the surcharge and include it into the tax invoice, it's pretty hard to argue in that sense.

But most people won't do that as that will artificially inflate their profit and increase their GST payable to Customs.

If the tax invoice issued and the amount charged is different, scan a copy of those receipts and lodge a dispute with your issuer before raising it to BNM / Visa / Master if no action is taken.

2 weeks or so before you can get an answer.
