Hi there. I have a budget around RM2.5k for a mirrorless camera. Can you recommend me any mirrorless camera? I read about Sony A6000. Any other recommendations? Thank you.

since may 2014 until today, A6000 has been the top most best buy camera, the next best buy camera is the sony A5100 (internally exactly of A6000) but removal of EVF (the thing you put your eye on to see from inside a small hole) and the flash hotshoe (for external flash) and rm500 off the price tag.

A5100 has touchscreen but no evf. A6000 has evf but no touchscreen. Buy the body only, save money from kit lens and buy the prime 35mm or 50mm lens.

Alternatively, nx500 (no evf but better touchscreen, has physical psam mode dial and hotshoe which a5100 doesnt have) but less lens selection. Not an issue if you not planning to collect lens much.

Last i checked for 35mm >rm1100 but comes with lens stabilizer. Samsung 30mm f2 prime rm800 but without stabilizer. Based on old rate. If you get rid of sony kit lens, perhaps save you rm300 and thus cost only rm800 for sony 35mm.

Otherwise just go sony rx100 or panasonic lx100 if not intend to change lens.

If not mistaken fixed focal length 23mm f2. Non interchangable. Good camera but rather specific to some people. If you dont mind the limitation its a good camera.

Perfect for street photographers with retro styling but may regret if you prefer telephoto in the end.

based of my experience, A6000 autofocus performance very good compare with other mirrorless camera with similar price and functionality. AF speed incredibly fast when outdoor photography and even though indoor with sufficient light. although speed get slower when in lowlight, accuracy still there. furthermore, it using APS-C size image sensor, delivering DSLR quality pictures. indeed, i'm highly recommend A6000 thumbup.gif
