I arrived at the Incheon Airport at about 9pm on 6th dec. On time! Well, the KFC is open for 24 hours. So, no worries if u haven't had your dinner yet.
The person from Incheon Guesthouse fetched my fren and I to the place.
It's a business center like place. Cosy and pretty.

The next day (7 Dec), went back to the airport and took bus to Bangrang Hostel at Chungjeongno station.
Gotta get off the bus quickly as the driver has no patient at all I can say. Even the Seoul city Tour Bus.-________-! He'll scream pali pali (go fast)
You guys can buy the Seoul city Pass at the convenience shop near gate 5 and top up 30k won.
I rented a phone from sk roaming and it's only 1520 won a day.

Went to Myeondong twice to buy stuff. Lolz.
For ladies, you might want to shop at the Face shop or skin food. Prices are 50% from Malaysia price.

Bought a pair of ankle length boots for 20k won.Not sure if it's cheap but it's pretty.
Right at the corner of Namdaemun Gate 4, there's a shop that sells pao.
And it has a long queue! I ate the Red Bean Pao for 1500 won.
There's kimchi pao too! I saw ppl buying a dozen of them!

It was snowing in the afternoon on 8th Dec.
I was at Gyeongbukgong. It snowed all of  sudden.
Haha. I was anxiously waiting for my first snow experience. Lolz!

You can have lunch right opposite the palace.
We ate bulgogi and kimchi chigae for only 11k won.
Water is free in every restaurant.
There are distrilled cups places next to the water machine. Gotta self-service. :0)

Places nearby hongdae has lotsa good food too.
For those who wants to see Hello Kitty Cafe, it's there.

If you hop onto Seoul City Tour Bus, it will cost you only 9500 won. :0)
I went up to Namsan Park. And it started snowing again when we were walking up th slope. Therefore, I didnt want to go up the tower. Anyway, it was good enough that we encountered snow again!;0)

Went to Doota, but stuff there are expensive if you are planning to get some good deals.
Food wise, there are lotsa choices.

Street foods:
1. Potato chip - 2000 won (Myeongdong)
2. Tteokkbokki - 2000 won (Myeongdong)
3. The one that looks like fuchuk - 1500 won
4. Hotdog wrapped in french fries (forgot the name) - 2000 won
5. A round piece of pancake - 1000 won

Night time you can go Dongdaemun, Nandaemun and myeongdon for shopping but make sure you come back before subway close. Otherwise, taxi from these areas don't use meter during the night hours.

Touched down at Seoul Y'day nite @ 9.10pm Seoul time /8:10pm M'sian time.

Airport Money echange all qputed at 1103W for US$ . Should hv changed Y'day bcos, I was walking like hell searching everywhere ~ Dongdaemun only to find one inside Doota! -- @ 1100! Cisss..

Due to the long que at immigration, Cleared ~ 10:15pm & by the time took the AREX train already 11PM..This is a big mistake. By the time reaching Gimpo @ 11:30PM, I was told all MRT no longer available!! Walked far to The Gimpo Arrival hall & no one there so darkkkk...Walk out to the terminal..and feel the 1st sub-zero freezing -9C...damn coldd...Well no choice hv to take the taxi & yes they also dunwan to use meter..sigh..bcos almost Midnite..No choice negotiated to 30,000 won...So for those haven't taken the 10PM train to Gimpo, better go for bus dy...

Today..Walked to Gwanhwamun --Yeah!! 1.2Km from Hotel & visited Deogsugong & thereafter walked to Geogdukgung b4 going to Cheonggecheon stream..Thereafter took the Seoul city bus round-round Seoul to N-Tower (8,000won discounted to..dunno how much liao..), Hanok Korean Village (FOC), Dong Daemun b4 back to Hotel...No Wifi here...but only 2 desktop..The speed...damn...U chklah:

Added on December 12, 2010, 10:38 pmCurrently Seoul weather is at 0C and during Morning to Afternoon ~ -6 to -10.. Down jacket is sufficient without any long john for this. However, I regretted not getting the leather Glove...My finger & hand is not well protected! even wth the normal Nylon and polyster thermal glove abit useless..Most of the time hv to put my hand inside the down jacket!! ..So get a better glove!! Scarf is important too to cover your mouth & also ear if you dunwan to use the down jacket head gear.

Or yeah..but long john pant is important bcos I feel my leg not really protected from the cold wind wth my lousy non wool sock. Howver not so bad-lah..If can tahan abit Ok-liao.  biggrin.gif

Remember...The finger , ear & mouth area...must be well protected too..otherwise... You will not be enjoying the winter there..  smile.gif

I wear face mask like local Korean and it helps warm up and moisture my lips and nostril whenever I exhale. Also helps to filter out pollutants.
The glove can get it cheap in e-mart. about 12,000w (leather outside and furry layer inside), Iteawon, namdaemum and dongdaemun all selling 25,000 and up.

Do you think I should buy one Seoul City Tour Bus for 1day usage at 15000won. http://www.seoulcitypass.com/jsp/citypass/citypass_eng.jsp
I will start from Myeondong Station and stop at the following station only - Hanpjeong  Hongik University  Ewha Women University  Then back to Myeondong check out and leaving to airport. Where to purchase this seoul city tour bus 1day pass?

No U should buy just Seoul City Tour Bus (SCTB) for 9000w only if you print the discount voucher from KTO. It stop at 20+ hot spots every 30min punctually. Why pay extra 6,000w for the extra city pass ? To purchase SCTB ticket, just hop into the bus.

How do you communicate with the bus driver to ensure he remind us where to stop at? They can speak lil English?? Eg.. “ Chungmuro Station, Pls call me” & Must sit close to the driver.
They will understand??
There is a head phone and LCD panel in front of every seat to explain every stop in language you selected.

Tentatively my itinerary on 09th Jan start from Namsan Guest House at 5pm.
1) Namsan Seoul Tower – By Cable car or Walk to Chungmuro Station, Take Bus No.2.
2) Cheongyecheon Stream & Gwanghwamun Square - (Walking distance 20min from CS to Myeongdong or shall I take subway?
3) Myeongdong – Dinner @ Kyoja Restaurant ( Myeongdong to Namdaemun is 10min walking distance)
4) Namdaemun

Plan to take cab from Namsan Seoul Tower to Cheongyecheon Stream & Gwanghwamun Square. Any comment?

But I’m afraid the weather allow us go evening time, it’s freezing cool!!!!

The SCTB brings you to the door step of all 4 places mentioned above. Save the cable car and cab money for diner, the tour bus drives you up the Nansam hill and drop u at Gwanghwamun for Cheonggyecheon Stream. You can also walk from Cheongyecheon stream second bridge (turn right at Gwanggyo bridge) to Myeongdong and Namdaemun.

For the SCt bus, although I stay so near to Myeongdong, I walked to the starting point for the ticket! I dun think you can buy at Myeong Dong..just a station. (Not sure myself)

Today is the coldest day...Temperature touching negative 11 this Morning & wth the wind, probably -20C!!...Just take out my glove for a while for picture taking and my fingers all freezed!! My ear so pain..damn...Hv to cover..Well still very dry here & no snow althoigh temperature so cold..You put a glass of water outside window it will turned into ice within 30min - 1hr..(That I tried y'day nite wth temp ~-6C haha
*
For SCTB, one have to hop into the bus and the bus conductor usually young female staff with approach and sell you the ticket.

Walau...so cold till stay in the hotel at this time ar ?

Did you happen to see the pricing of Galaxy Tab in Seoul ?

Hi folks

Anybody here interested in buying T-Money cards? I got 4 pieces, each with KRW11,000 plus credit available. Asking for RM50 each. PM if interested.
*
You should get the balance refunded at GS25 convenience store while in Korea and just sell the card half price at RM3.50 each here. Now that the problem is, your buyer has no way to verify the actual card balance as claimed by you.

I suggest you revise your price to RM100 for 4 pieces ( if indeed each card have 11,000w) and get rid of it as soon as possible before it gets expired.

Anyone wanted to sell T-Money Card (card only) . i need 2..PM me,pls...
COD at Sunway Pyramid or Mid valley .. Im departing on 05th Jan 2011.
*
I think Ah Boon And Ah mix should have it but it may not worth the COD trip for both seller and buyer because the cost of one T-money blank card is only RM7.20 in Korea unless delivered by cheapest 60sen snail mail.

Here is a tip when you want to ask for direction in Seoul.

Preferably, choose a working class young male to ask for direction. Why ? Because the possibility of communication in English is better, they are more friendly towards foreigners and 9 out of 10 will flash out their GPS enabled cellphone to assist you.

Aiyoo.....no need to write la. Use your camera lor...just aim your camera at your LCD screen and copy ma. Example if you plan to go to Nami island just take a picture of the below and show it when you want to ask direction, buy train ticket, show it to the taxi or bus driver, etc etc.

*
This is a good experience to share. It is imperative to have a minimum cash in hand of 300K won upon arrival to over come contingency such as one have to take taxi due to late arrival, arrival on weekend, ATM card not compatible etc etc..

You guys neglected e-Mart and Lottle Mart. I think these two offers the cheapest Korean made merchandise. Save the hassle of bargaining.
