vista hog the system. It uses a lot of resources. When vista came out, the hardware that was current then was not quite ready for it. If I were you I'd get meself a new laptop. Just make sure that you get original OS bundled with it. Win 8.1 is not so bad. Dont upgrade to win 10 yet. Win 10 will not let you run a lot of grey software that you may want to use and it also hogs the system.

Just upgrade to Windows 7, that would be appropriate for your laptop. How much RAM do you have? Try upgrading that too. Another problem could be your HDD, could be going dead, run HDD diagnostic and see if any problem there.

Update: Copying out drama series or any other file will have Error 0x8007045D. I even went to safe mode and try, still the same problem.

Use another port now, but seem like the error persist.

chkdsk and cluster sector is for checking hdd itself.. but not the driver sweat.gif driver error/port error usually gives that error as stated by you. that is memory address for i/o port.

Absolute nonsense.
I've been testing Windows 10 for several weeks on a PC with Core 2 Duo processor & 2GB RAM but the system is still running smoothly.
In fact, much smoother than Windows 8.1.

Grey software blocking - Also nonsense.

You to know that you have had good experience. There are things that i cannot run on win 10 and those are crystal structure analysis softwares that are crucial to me. And yeah.. they are grey.... I cant afford 20k for a legit one.....

i had vista business on my old Fujitsu Siemens (still on C2D and 940m chipset). Worked ok (it was quite fast for the time) but as it grew long in the tooth, i also felt the performance degrade. Finally the hard-drive failed and I bought it a new hdd (thankfully it was already on SATA, not the old IDE interface), installed Ubuntu aaaaand... still i feel it lag.
so maybe it's me, not the laptop. i thought it was because the hdd was failing, but maybe i've just grown accustomed to my SSDed-rig... sigh...
