As a subscriber, I took up the insurance for my Note5 and find it quite an attractive package. There aren't many mobile phone insurers in Malaysia and most come with a surcharge if you break something. Maxis charges me RM23 a month and a 15% replacement fee for damage phone or 50% if I lose the phone but I get a quick replacement (within 48 hours of claim approval). Other insurers only offer to repair the phone which can take ages.

Not too sure about Sam Line but my guess is he never bothered asking the staff or reading the policy when taking up the insurance which is quite baffling. AN insurance policy is not something to be taken lightly and the policy should be read through at least once before signing up as you need to know what to do when something happens. Assumption is the mother of all screw ups. On my end, the Maxis TTDI staff were very happy to answer my queries and let me read through the policy before I signed up.

At the end of the day, do not purchase something you don't know! Ask if you don't know! Research! Everything is available on their website.

by the Zerolution doesn't means zero penalty n zero contract ..... they have different type of zero lution

Those were the terms given to me when I signed up. So I assume it applies to everyone as Maxis may change the terms and conditions at their discretion? The SA informed if I wanted to cancel, I will have to pay the balance of the phone RRP value to Maxis and to qualify, I will need to be on Maxis128 throughout the duration of the contract.

nope actually different .....
recently maxis come out S7E + Gear S2 (they call it free, so they can choose to give you or not), but with that so call FREE ITEM u need to signup Higher Plan (158) and also NO DOWNGRADE OR CANCEL OR SETTLE full amount + 1000 Penalty for that free item (u might not received it) ...
*
I think that only applies to the pre-launch promo. Maybe you misinterpreted the T&C? When I checked it out I thought quite straight forward. If you get the S2 gear, then you're stuck with the thing for 2 years. If you don't, then you're free to downgrade your plan. Anyways, why want to tie yourself down for 2 years over a silly watch, which IMO is quite unnecessary.

maxis offers different plans for different customers. For the so called high plan of 158 (unlimited calls/texts, 5GB data), East Malaysians get it at RM 68 and some "selected" West Malaysia customers get it for 68 to 88, depending on their telemarketing team's whims and fancies.

I have learnt my lesson the hard way and will never sign a contract with maxis. Ever. Again.

I'll wait a couple more months before the switch I guess. Pretty sure they will come up with a better offer. I've been with maxis for so long and the oneplan did help cut down my phone bill from around 400 bucks to about 150 a month. And not obliged to sign a contract 1 what. There will always be better packages coming out regardless of which telco. Imagine those guys who sign up for 2 years package with DiGi, all stuck with their pretty expensive stuff while the newer customers/those without contract are enjoying better rates.

Isit meh? The conditions imposed to get the free gift is quiet clear what? You're not paying for it also. Youre just taking up a really shit plan to get it free.
