Mac's can play dota yes. In fact, Blizzard games are pretty much Mac-friendly. For NFS:Carbon, just use bootcamp to install Windows and dual boot. At the moment, Parallels or VMware Fusion do not support 3D Acceleration yet but they're working on it. So bootcamp is the only choice now if you wanna play Windows games...

why should we convice you? laugh.gif go to apple center and ask the salesman to do so.
for my case, if someone want a mac, it will from the heart bottom. not being talked out by someone else.

there's plenty of reviews, articles & talks on this topic all around the net.

Hello to all APPLE's fren,

People who use Apple are a unique bunch. To the general public, if you want a computer, get a Dhell or Acer or build your own. That's the normal way people would approach things.

The Apple crowd is a fanatical bunch. Back in the early 90s, we swore by our Performa, our beige G3 towers. Even when the Blue & White G3 came out, and comparative PCs were twice as cheap, we stuck with our favourite computer company. There is no turning back.

There isn't any real reason why we love Apple products. Its just because we do. Just like a football fan-boy, real Apple fan-boys are just that. I cannot convince you to sokong my favourite team. Its just that.

In short, its hard to convince people why ease-of-use, stability, and an enjoyable & efficient user-experience is worth twice the money of comparable computers (maybe Apple's pricing is better now lah, but you still pay a premium). If you like it, buy it. If you can't afford it, drool over it. That's it. That's all you have to decide.

WE give you 100 reasons why you should get a Mac. You can then tell me 1 reason why you can't and shouldn't. And for most middle class Malaysian tech-enthusiasts, the problem is MOOLAH!!!

Its all about the love.

so games compatibility wont be a problem la...

Anyway, i really wanted to change to a different type of taste... But i have doubt whether it is really "fully control-able" by me...

I'll take the advise on trying it myself 1st.... Then i'll think about it...

So... CD or C2D??

When i buy my MBP, it was just because it turn to intel and i can use linux on it but after using OS X, i never look back... the os actually built to inspire developers creativity... the 3rd party application i used are way out too different compare to M$ ... dont get me wrong, it is creatively fantastice and still so user-friendly...

the os X GUI is design to be idiotic proof and artisticly cool... i only spend less then a few hours to know what i can do to customize it to suit my needs... compatibilities with gadgets (pda, phone, printers, camera) are fantastic... until now, no driver needed... by the way, i used to connect it to my Canon S2 IS, nokia 7710, motorola V3i, hp printer, palm PDA, etc... hassle free, even i can say is "Next click free"...

as to the programs, you can find a lot of open source program able to run on it... dont worry about the compilation, there is a lot of mac native programs... (you can email me to check out what programs is available)... dont opt for pirated software... there is enough open source program, so you dont have to be guilty...

lastly, you pay the premium for the advance technology of what apple offer ... slot in DVD try, magnetic power adapter, firewire, iSight camera, iLife suite and etc... not some os that comes with inferior software that patronize you...

in summary, try it for a few hours... get yourself comfortable with it... dont even try to suit yourself with it... make os X suits you and you will looking back at other OS...

Just make a simple comparison, build quality, spec and price. Compared to others, it'll be close to Sony Vaio. But the price is lower than Sony.

Its really worth it. A great package. If your budget permits, get the Macbook Pro. You'll love it..

Hello to all APPLE's fren,

QUESTION 1: CONVINCE ME
I wanted to buy a lappy, have been used microsoft product dunno for how many god damn year... Was thinking is time to change to "Apple". I'm not so sure about its functionality and control ability as i am very new to it. I always have a mind set of if i buy mac, i dunno how to control it to the fullness... If i buy a dell, i can have full control of it coz have been using those windows OS and application for years~

So... pls convince me to buy a MAC!

QUESTION 2: C2D or CD
My budget for lappy is 5K... I think add a bit more then i can get a MAC Core Duo notebook but the C2D just launch and kindda attracts me coz 4mb level of cache, fast. If i call dad subsidise maybe i can get it la. Is there any apple shop that accept any credit cards month payment, maybe with 0%, pls let me know...

So... which 1 should i choose?

Thanks to all my apple fren! Btw, i'm ipod nano user too... cheers! thumbup.gif

I'd take a completely different approach to your "dilemma".

You need to answer some questions.

What do you seek to accomplish on a Mac that you won't be able to accomplish on a PC?

What is the price differential between a PC notebook that would allow you to do the tasks you need to do and a Mac notebook?

Does the added functionality of the Mac justify the price?

These are valid questions. Especially since you are not paying for the notebook yourself but instead are a dependant seeking financial assistance from your dad (who no doubt has other stuff he could spend his money on).

"Zero Interest" plans nice'n'all but money will still be spent, debt incurred.

Honestly... I seriously think that you shouldn't buy a Mac.

For me... if one needs reasons to buy a Mac, then what's the point of buying a Mac? I can already forsee a few things... "Why can't I do this on a Mac when I can do it on my Dell?" issues... That's the problem with a lot of Mr-Know-IT-All. They're simply too rigid and narrowminded that things has to be done a certain way. When people say they can fully utilise Windows, I say CRAP. When folks say that they can fully utilise a Mac, I'd also say CRAP. laugh.gif

Oh.. don't worry threadstarter, I wasn't talking about you. smile.gif

They still sell Core Duo macbook/pros? o_O; Get a Core 2 Duo, it's the same price: RM4399.

And they're right when they say "you can never go back". It's true, I can't stand windows anymore.
