Hi Sifus and Masters,

Need urgent help. I have an Acer E1-472G model notebook, 1 year old. Last week suddenly blackout, cannot turn ON. No AC led light, and not even charging.

Sent it to the "Acer authorised service provider", they quote the problem with price:


a) Mainboard - RM 500
b) HDD 1 Tera (problem bad sector) - RM 248
c) Labor - RM100
d) Backup charge - RM150

Plus GST and other BS total of RM 1k ++

Can anyone suggest other place that can repair notebook, cheaper price please? It's always good to get second quotation.


p/s: Does a bad sector problem really need to replace the whole hard disk?

nope... no need to changed the hdd.. if broken how can them backup ? really odd here
