QUOTE(quadcube @ Aug 20 2015, 10:30 PM) i tried, but even before it fit into the keycap, its kinda harsh on the keys,so i didn't use it But, Costar Stabilizer gives the BEST FEELING.true...have to buy the normal wired one instead of using the insulated copper wire, kinda tedious to change the caps especially the ones with co star stab Although, I like Cherry Stabilizer more(easy to change keycap), but, feeling wise, I think Costar wins. |

QUOTE(justnits @ Aug 21 2015, 12:15 PM) i wouldn't recommend hot water for ABS keycaps. Yes, ABS is pretty weak. luke warm or slightly warm is alright. my method would be putting all the keycaps into a basin and fill it up with tap water, just enough to cover all the surface of the keycaps. then i pop in 1 or 2 tablets of dental tabs or polident. leave it soak for about half an hour, rinse, dry and place back onto keyboard. I blew hot air to ABS keycaps(for adjusting bent keycaps), they melt easily and you can throw your keycaps into dustbin right away. I blew hot air to PBT keycaps, no problem. |

QUOTE(quadcube @ Aug 22 2015, 12:49 PM) Somehow i like the texture of PBT caps,ABS would be a little too slippery, double shot caps are also as slippery as normal ABS caps? You seem to be a bit confuse... Double Shot, Dye-Sublimated, Laser-Latched, etc are PRINTING TECHNIQUES of making the "FONT" on the keycaps. NOT THE MATERIALS used to make the keycaps. (You can imagine this as painting style, like cute style, realistic style, abstract, etc) PBT, ABS, POM, Zinc, Stainless Steel, Aluminium, etc are MATERIALS used for the keycaps. (You can imagine these are choices of painting medium choices, like color pencils, oil paint, water color, acrylic paint, etc) So, DO NOT MIX them up. Not all ABS keycaps are slippery. But, most of them are(which commonly found). ABS keycaps can be NON-SLIPPERY too if it's SANDBLASTED by default and using very good quality ABS materials. Usually, ABS Keycaps surface will get oily or shiny after sometime. But, if they're sandblasted, they'll last longer than non-sandblasted. PBT keycaps are mainly chalky by nature and more durable. Which means, you can have Double Shot PBT Keycaps and also Double Shot ABS Keycaps on the market. Because, Double Shot is a PRINTING TECHNIQUE, NOT materials. QUOTE(redoxon @ Aug 24 2015, 11:27 AM) hi guys, would like to ask is there a high failure rate for LED on mkb? Will the LEDs eventually be dead after a few years or can some last for a very long time? Newbie here would like to try using mkb LED lifespans are mostly random. There's always risk of LED dying on LED Keyboards, this you can't avoid. Current LED dying Kings: a.) Corsair K70 b.) CM Storm Rapid-i |

I would like to have a 60% MKB in the future too. oh btw, if u really travel a lot in your line of work ^ get wireless. dun mind bout the brand. as long it carries cherry or better switches. its good already. other than that, its the functions u need to consider next. I like the looks of it but I am pretty sure I don't like to use it for my works and gaming. |

QUOTE(quovadis123 @ Sep 1 2015, 11:09 PM) If you are Malaysian, then get from local. And, IMO, DAS Keyboard 4(Both Full and TKL Layout) are better than DAS Keyboard Model S... Malaysia had authorised distributer here. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=3651866 Else, get from amazon. I never use before, not sure good deals or not. Finding distributer to let me test. Simply, DAS Keyboard Model S is using cheaply look glossy plastic. DAS Keyboard 4 and 4C are using Aluminium top housings. |
