QUOTE(SticH @ Feb 29 2016, 10:21 PM) Heh I posted a WTS in their page ( while their own group buy can be posted and pinned, such irony ) then one of the admin removed it and post about no selling and stuffs and get raged when I raise about the group buy and decided to kick me out Well, I'm not the one who kicked you out, but I guess you did things that really pissed the admins off from what I heard from some of them. They created a mech market, so why not use it? If you're so fond of browsing GH, you should notice GB and normal WTS is posted in different places right? It's just much easier to manage. Well actually I have no grudges against milking newbie but at the very least don't tell lies la, if you source it from taobao u just tell it's from taobao, unlike someone few post above that lied that he actually owned them and sell them at higher price few years ago when I still newbie, now they make a fb group just to run their "groupbuy" They set it up just to have a place that keyboard enthusiast have discussions on FB, taking the inspiration from vnmk just so you know. But if everyone also post their wts and bump like every few minutes, where will the post that is actually asking something constructive be? So having a mech market is much more manageable. If you think they are making a f**k ton of money running GB, then please think again. Or try to run one by yourself. It's not like the stuff came from factory will automatic deliver to customer doorstep. The conversion rate by bank, bank charges, shipping, taxes, fuel(back and forth factory, post office and bank), sorting, man hour in handling and assembling stuff ,QC and etc. All of them have full time job, and they are spending so much time on these GB and sometimes even sacrifice sleep. What they earn? Probably at a loss. You saw some cheap ass deal on taobao, but have you bought it, tried it? Or just reading those reviews posted on taobao? And you know the difference between ori and clone right? Just like you said you won't be spending money buying fake artisans, but spending money buying clone tools? How if the tool actually malfunction and cause some serious damage, is your Hakko solder station clone as well? And do you actually know the PCBs for the acrylic keyboard GB are custom ordered, and not some clone B87 like you saw on taobao, and the case also is custom designed and cut locally, try to find an exact 100% copy from taobao, doubt you can even find the same pcb. So you just neglect all those and slap on all their faces saying everything taobao also got, milking newbie, earning a s**t ton of money. Or you just unhappy that you're not the one doing it? I also not sure what to say to you anymore sir. I'm not here to argue, I'm just telling things that you should know. And thing that I said is solely from my stance, not the others, thank you and hope you can actually read sir. You can join the group again, I will surely approve your request, but how long you'll stay, I don't know. QUOTE(siles1991 @ Mar 1 2016, 02:24 AM) isnt there a separate group for selling stuff? why post on a discussion page Yes, there is a mech market for buy and sell. and then the guy also posted this not siding with anyone just giving both sides of the story |

"I spend my days typing and noticed that my hands getting fatigue after a while. Also, mkb might give me a competitive edge in gaming because it requires less force to press a key." Hopefully, he will cherish his new keyboard. Congratz And thanks for everyone joining this event. -- More events coming soon as well. This year, will be quite active in the community. Stay tune. |

QUOTE(SticH @ Feb 29 2016, 06:39 PM) LOL, I was removed from Malaysia Mechanical keyboard group by a raging admin @quovadis123 OK. Let's be clear here. I'm not taking sides, and I'm not going to discuss anything that will not be relevant to the facts:Guess they'll kick anyone that gets in their way from milking beginners? Never forget - RM150 soldering kits (55rmb from taobao) and TGR-china FB's MMKB group is for discussion. It will remain for discussions for the foreseeable future because there is a trading group. I have removed users/posts myself for violation of this, so this is nothing new. As for the mech market group in FB, it is open to all to post, so I don't think there is an issue there. As for your removal from the group itself, I will not say anything until a discussion with other admins. |

Another 15 pages, we will moving towards V29.
Do you guys think our community is big enough in these years? From my perspective, active members are less, very very less. If we can expand our community a lot, then I will move towards building a dedicated forum for mechanical keyboard community. |

I am under the impression that the awareness about MKB has reach the stage where almost everyone knows about it already, at least PC enthusiasts/modders/builders/gamers.
Like 0168257061 says, spending power is low, which is true. Just look at the budget that people allocate when they ask for MKB recommendation. Let's not go to keycaps yet since the price for decent keycaps are usually bigger than the budget set for their first MKB. |

True that. Like 0168257061 says, spending power is low, which is true. Just look at the budget that people allocate when they ask for MKB recommendation. Let's not go to keycaps yet since the price for decent keycaps are usually bigger than the budget set for their first MKB. Take for comparison Ergodox. Normal price is about USD199, plus shipping is around USD219. Keycaps go for the range of USD88 for a dox. Low budget of around RM200 would probably mean that you'll never join a SP GB, and resort to cheap-ish taobao or Taihao caps. Middle budget RM300 means you'll only reach dye-sub levels. High budget of RM400+ would end up buying Razer and realize the cap profile all wrong. Anything above that and you'll probably never worry about "price" when it comes to keycaps. Question is, regardless of quality and feeling and all that jazz, how many people can afford the FCF/disposable income to buy an MKB? |

Meanwhile, Filco will be TM soon, because Inter-ASIA no more with Filco. Look from bottom to top. We need more of lower end community (newbie) here before all moving to top. Even you and me also start from low. Once they have low end, they will move to middle end as they get priority on it. If everyone target on high end from the start, the community not even can move upwards. Many those rich young ppl lcly in the forum, all act like cb-kia here and there. Appreciate you comments, I think if we can't do it, just leave it as now. Just normally come and chat here. |
