ducky dk9008G2 tiger limited edition - cherry mx brown. using mix of cherry corp classic doubleshot and dye sublimated keycaps. also signature plastic doubleshots. also some window led keycaps i got from taobao.
and a vintage cherry corp G80 variant with cherry corp double shot keycaps. cherry mx black switch old version.
The Lenovo ideapad Y900 is set to be available from June 2016 onwards starting from US$2,000, which is about RM8,670. Needless to say, this is not an affordable gaming laptop, but it sure is powerful. Local availability of the Y900 has not been revealed yet at the time of this writing.
i can get a Acer Nitro V with similar pc specs for Rm 3xxx to 4xxx ..... so mechanical keyboard or not, i think spending that much for a laptop is a poor investment. Laptop tend not to be easy to upgrade compared to PC desktop. sure ram, hdd/ssd probably.
But if something wrong with battery (unless it's a model with a swap battery method), or if the screen has issues because of age, or you want to change cpu/motherboard to newer gen, your out of luck.
1. lowest input latency (mechanical keyboard doh) 2. most dependable actuation (mechanical switches beat rubber dome for sure) 3. extra blings such as macro keys, led lighting.... keyboard software UI, etc...

are you roxgunz or is that your own definition? haha
personally i don't like gaming design that makes the whole keyboard looks like a Star Destroyer. makes it difficult to blend into various workstations.
i prefer the plain look. but some aren't too bad (if wrist rest is well designed, may be okay).... other just go overboard..... i've owned a big a-ss rubberdome keyboard g15, so i'm familiar with these weird big designs. it's not pleasant

if your budget minded, you can just get a simple mkb with a rm 4xx-5xx budget. but if you want to treat yourself to a nice looking mkb for long term investment (as in your not going to need a new mkb for the next decade) then this seems like a good mkb.
i paid slightly more for mine, but i use double shots and dye sub keycaps which added to the cost. not to mention ordered overseas the mkb since at the time the model i wanted wasn't available locally. things changed a lot these days
Hello everyone, im new to this thread. Can one sell or promote his keyboard in here? I mean i wanted to sell my mech kb so if can i wanna share it here. Thank you in advance
i don't see a problem with that. though i recommend you make a dedicated thread in the sellers forum area for it. you can then mention here for people to check it out.

very nice review

Yes yes the consensus is that Gateron's switch stem is either molded differently or uses softer plastic.
The more I use this Magicforce with Gaterons, the more I realize how inferior brand-new MX blues are. But to be fair, I purchased a used Filco MJ2 where the switches were broken in by the previous owner and it does feel much better.
I have a suspicion that Cherry's current blacks and reds are scratchy as as result of cost-cutting measures (either in materials or production). Many people have complained about this yet Cherry chooses to ignore it or keep quiet. Typical German corporate mentality, just look at the Volkswagen emissions scandal. Even the way Cherry answers customers' FAQs is very restrained.
I think it's quite sad that they have allowed a China company with limited history and no track record to overtake them so easily.
so gateron is better? which one is closest to a cherry mx brown though ??
i tried red it's very nice but i worry i rest my fingers on keys too much. brown is more suitable for me, doesn't hurt my finger. but i'm not familiar with gateron at all
and how does logitech's romero g fit into this? is it good or worse?

This year, our MKB Culb will hit new milestone of 5 years old. We will having a mechanical keyboard giveaway for a lucky winner. cc. Moogle Stiltzkin (founder)
QUOTE(Patent @ Feb 17 2016, 05:35 PM)
woah a giveaway? very nice
me and quavadis came up with the idea to reward the mkb users in this club seeing as we hit like v28 which is no small feat in lyn forum so it was due that we reward our enthusiastic members who made it possible. so stay tuned and watch this thread for the next few days cause give away for mkb incoming
also thinking of doing this on live stream on my channel later *you can subscribe if you want to be alerted when stream goes up. but i'll post up front what day and time i'll stream the draw http://www.twitch.tv/mooglestiltzkin
winner entry will show on stream something like joXX HoXXXX for privacy :] i'll keep a separate list (not shown on stream duh) for the winner details so i know who then we can ship to them.
if anyone has a better alternative let me know
PS: i hope the winner will do the rest of us a favor and do a small review. doesn't have too be too extensive, just whatever you feel comfortable with

Please don't turn this to another Malaysian Mechanical Keyboard facebook group where the admins formed it just to promote their sales by reselling shits from taobao as their own (eg: TGR-A17 bullshits, keycaps and stuffs)
Go back to your facebook group
i know you didn't mean me, but since this got brought up, for the record i never make a single cent or personal sponsorship from starting this lyn thread. at most i only sold my old ducky 9008 to get a dk9008-g2 tiger limited edition, but everybody does that as a regular user
as for facebook i hate it, but if others want to use it, i'm cool with that
anyways good luck to everyone at the chance for getting a mkb thx to our sponsor cooler master.
i saw the picture of the mkb in question, honestly it seems to cover all bases a gamer or even a general typist would need. even the palm rest is detachable if you decide to use your own
PS: if people want to make business regarding mkb i'm cool with that, as long as they don't lie or cheat others which is crossing the line. one reason i left GH community is because it's filled with trolls running the place. and some of the sellers not ethical.

Survey Results on Mechanical Keyboard Preferences Released
QUOTE
Keyboard enthusiast site Go Mechanical Keyboard recently conducted a reader survey to determine what their readers preferred in a mechanical keyboard, and the results (from 950 responses) provided some interesting data.
The data (which the site has made available in its raw format here) includes results from favorite key switch to preferred form-factor, as well as brand and model preferences. The site created an impressive infographic to display the results, which is partially reproduced here. I'd recommend a visit to Go Mechanical Keyboard to see the full version, as well as links to prior year's surveys.
Getting to a few of the results, we'll start with the all-important mechanical key switches:
Dead controller = dead keyboard. Nothing can be done to save it. Interesting results. Gonna go to the source and see what else they have on this
QUOTE(richard912 @ Feb 25 2016, 08:35 AM)
Interesting article. Vindicates my choice for going with Brown. Form factor wise, would love a 60% but I use the F-keys regularly for work and play so, TKL for me! No overly funky design either. Plain and simple suits me fine.
i was surprised that more people liked the brown than the red for gaming (personally i prefer brown general and gaming, but i didn't think majority of others did too )

Today is the last day of the our MKB Club Giveaway. After 12am, I will close the participation form. And will review and remove all duplicates of participation. Then pass to participation file to MKB Club Founder, Moogle Stiltzkin. Moogle will announce the result tomorrow night 7pm at his Twitch ChannelTwitch channel
confirmed.
i'm sorting through the list as we speak
damn time passes by so fast. i was actually waiting for the division launch when the mkb contest completed sooner
Just to remind everyone, the give away lucky draw will be done today at 7pm over at my twitch channel (though i'll probably log into channel roughly around 6:30 pm ish ideally just so i don't arrive last minute to find out stream doesn't work )
to qualify to win, you do not have to attend the giveaway on the twitch at the appointed time. i'm not trying to promo my channel if thats what your wondering (i rarely stream these days) it's just so people can see for themselves a live lucky random draw to ensure the winner is picked fairly
the entry list i received i've finished editing it to censor out private details. i appended a uniquer identifier to each person's entry for easy identification. then the public list everyones identity is censored most part.
to pick the winner which will be shown at #1 in the list. then can cross reference the ID to the winners censored name, which i will later check off stream the winner and email/private message on forum that they've won.
also for full disclosure i also added 1 single entry for myself, though i'll gift it to my bro who still uses rubberdome.... (he is a former pro gamer that use to represent malaysia for counter strike back in WCG, so is probably due time he gets a mkb if his lucky ).
if anyone need any clarifications please do let me know
i'll delete the entry lists for the compy entry once the winner is selected and has received their prize. i'll use privazer since can delete securely i use to work in the banking sector handling sensitive data so you can trust i won't abuse any info we used for this compy.
anyway best of luck everyone
PS: i ran a test trial to make sure this worked okay
QUOTE(irsyadfy @ Feb 25 2016, 08:27 PM)
