Not very sure about replacing the cable, it have a huge chunk of plastic at the place which it connects to the keyboard housing. If you're modding the cable, not sure if it'll look nice.

Keycaps, Yes. Any MX stem compatible keycaps will do. But, you'll very likely run into issue with the spacebar row, because it's not standard layout. So take some time and read up before you drop your money on buying any keyset.

actually, i think it is perfectly fine for a RM180 keyboard. u still can replace keycaps for those frequently used keys and skip the bottom row, and i doubt u will type ctrl, winkey, alt as frequent as a-z, etc. the caps on my razer bwu (first gen) after 3 years of daily usage still perfectly fine when i sold it. mind you, i only have 1 mkb that time and i used it everyday, i even bring it outstation if i carry my laptop with me.

i'd say, go ahead, pull the trigger (after u tested it and make sure no problem with switches and led), and enjoy the mkb.

hello guys, i just got myself a ducky recently, but strangely, my windows is detecting my Left Alt key as the Fn Key, while the Fn key as the Application key, any fix for this?

Yeah, 100 moq for WKL kit does seem unreasonable in my opinion. Some guy mentioned that Troubled Minds set is the best-selling custom keycap GB of 2015 (not sure how true) and yet it couldn't hit WKL moq. I hope Massdrop / SP produces the WKL kit anyway out of sympathy for the users.

I might be reading it wrongly but the Tai-Hao link above doesn't include WKL kit into the base kit? Looks like an add-on to me.


I've not had the pleasure of owning GMK yet But I did just buy a set of Originative Carbon Black, comes in standard 104 + WKL. It's only the second WKL compatible set I have, after the DSA Dolch purchased from bro quovadis123. In fact, I didn't even know the Dolch included WKL pieces and I have no use for them.

I heard the story of DrugEr / JackAss cheating people's money on DSA Dolch, but I thought that was a one-off case and no other drama happening inside GH.

But for me, the main reason why I won't join a GH groupbuy (at least not yet) is purely due to the complexity. Judging from the Tai-Hao link above, reading the first post already so messy can get headache. I am afraid of misreading something or missing out a small detail.

Do you have dip switch at the back of the keyboard? maybe try checking that

Personally I won't recommend doing that, I've been doing the same for a month and it does seem a bit looser already.

Use a usb hub and a short cable maybe. The USB A is more durable imo.

i do have a usb hub that connect the 2 keyboards, but when i go home i still need to unplug the mini usb from the hub

i'm not sure about massdrop, but SP did made some kits that didn't hit moq a year back or so. that was when their PMK website just got started or something. can't recall what set it was.
i haven't join any SP keycaps groupbuy for quite some time already. my latest SP groupbuy was from EC's valentine set and before this, raindrop r2.
it took me quite sometime to jump into the WKL league due to the expensive WKL kit.
that's probably why it's hard to hit MOQ, expensive, and most WKL users go for GMK or BSP or cherry profile keycaps since it's all bundled together.

ahh, yes, that taihao gb has add-on for WKL after much request from interested participants.
those are dirt cheap, but it's cheaper to get from taobao instead of that GB actually...haha!!

yeah, coming end of next month will be 1 year anniversary since the start of the GB.

there's a lot of conman inside GH, some more distinct, while others work in a group you can guess by the way they delay you with gazillions of excuses. interestingly, they have ppl to back them up. much like our politician's macai2.

at this point of time, i really don't want to recommend anyone joining groupbuys in GH as there's too much risk since the popular organizers have high tendency to delay the sh!t out of international orders. the other organizer whom i previously had trusted in, betrayed it with one of his latest GB. that's it for me, i have trust issue from now on with any GB done by that 2 organizers.

sometimes we do try to do a subgroupbuy from a groupbuy to consolidate our orders in order to save shipping cost, but it's only for selected ones.

just plug it to your keyboard and retract them when not in use.
