Well, I actually received a couple of them from KBP. They even gave me some switches too, some Gateron Black/Blue and Fuuka.

Oh right, received my Varmillo Switch Tester from Massdrop yesterday. Need to find some time to play with it. And maybe make it as a "numpad replacement".

doubt you'd go back rubberdome once you got a taste of mech keyboard their very addicting once you get use to it.




hide your collection in closet or something. i too also got an extra mkb (i probably didn't needed), but mine is a cherrp corp rare vintage double shot which i keep just for collection. use it rarely every now and then when i need a separate keyboard I also got like 2 extra sets of keycaps, and a keychain for colored signature plastic plastic color samples.



if anything i recommend some accessories worth getting (as you'll get more actual practical usage out of them)
- filco key puller (this i find is the most reliable, since it doesn't break, also easy to use)
- palm rest (especially if your mkb doesn't have one already. Otherwise when typing, your hand will have to manually elevate when typing)
- double shot keycaps (the contrast quality is so good, aside from the fact their very durable.)

i think the general "hate" towards razer (and other gaming brand keyboard makers) is due to the following:-

#1) they are not using standard layout. (same goes to the other famous brand names that is not using standard layout such as Corsair, Logitech, Steelseries..)

#2) the quality build is not on par with the money you are paying. (though it's a bit subjective on this, despite them using cheaper quality stuff, they find ways to make it look or feel quality.)

#3) they use cheap products (eg, using Kailh switch maker for their new series, Kailh previously has notorious reputation of inconsistency and stem breaking issue.) and market them as top quality products and all the FANBOYS worships it.

#4) because of the FANBOYS and #1, there's fragmentation among mkb users with standard layout and non-standard layout, group buys for keycaps are a tad difficult to reach MOQ or reach high volume for cheaper cost.

Most of the newer keycaps set from groupbuys will allow a non-standard layout to change all the keys except for the spacebar.
still waiting for the day where 6.5u and 6u spacebars are included in every groupbuy.

however, do note that this is only important to those who likes to change keycaps. if you won't get bored with the same original keycaps even after the wasd's font fades away, or don't mind changing a keycaps set with an unmatching spacebar, or don't mind using the universal black translucent keycaps from maxkeyboard.com. (i haven't update myself on the availability of universal keycaps, this is the only company i know who sells a full universal aftermarket keycaps set.)

IMHO, if razer uses standard layout for their keyboards, you'll see more razer mkb users here.
that will be true for me, because if razer actually uses standard layout, my first mkb would've been a razer and not ducky shine 2. #ConfessionOfAMKBUser
this is my own opinion towards why i didn't choose/like razer's keyboard (or any other gaming keyboard), it may or may not be the same for others.

i did manage to try razer bw chroma with razer's green switch aka razer new clicky switch. i was actually quite excited to try it out when i was handed that board for cable repair.
there's still inconsistency across the whole board but that's not too bad. only thing that bothers me is the mushy clickiness, but i think that's a sacrifice in order for a lower actuation point.
having said all that, i'm still eager to try out razer's orange switch

Hi. Mine english no so good. Can dear people pleaes give me suggestion for tenkeyles mechanical keyboard? budjet Rm300-Rm400.
I want blue switch with red LED if can.
i will to pay extra RM100, upping budjet from RM400 to RM500 for RGB version.
i no want razer if can, i read many say razer product easy get broken after testing few day, meaning defectif product.
best if solid tenkeyles with no extra stuff, like multimedia key, just basic n simple

i used to owned 2 razers bwu, 1 is the blue led and another is 2013. they never give me any sort of problem. i sold the blue 1 and replace it with the 2013 one because i have change my mouse to deathadder green led and i want a matching color

sold the 2013 because i was moving home and i thought my time as a gamer is up.

one thing i really really want to complain is how both BWU attract finger prints

ok i want consider razer chroma tournament now, i read many say the key cap is bad. i will buy other keycap pbt maybe.

Razer have a (very?) non-standard layout. You might only be able to change only a portion of them. If you want it for the LED or its TKL form factor, I'm sure there are many others better out there.

Else just keep the stock keycaps.

However, if you decide to change key cap, just skip the bottom row.

is about the keycap not pbt, easy scratch, collect dust and finger oil

from my experience, this is more to do with the board, not the keycaps

If you're talking about ABS keycaps, then rest assured. Most keyboards uses the same material for their keycaps. Dust is pretty much the same for everything, unless you clean them every time before you put them back in your case or sleeve.

Yeah, I thought of getting some extra-ordinary keycaps or 3d perhaps. I admit I am looking at some massdrops on unusual MKBs.

though apart from keycaps, would anyone here know where I can get a good TKL wrist rest?

If mine razer chroma tournament warranty expired, later got problem with switch and led. I need pay a lot of money to fix it? Or same with normal key cap and led but expensive by a bit only no so much ? I worry later too expensive to fix

switches dont break easy, and there are a lot of sifu can help u on led, not sure bout price tho.
