HI Fellow members,

I am new and have some question regard PM fund:

1) I heard ppl say that dun buy a fund that don't finished selling after lauched certain period of time. Example: Fund size is 1.5 billion, after 1 yr of lauching only managed to sell 0.5 billion. They believe the fund may not be as good/attractive as other fast selling funds. So not encourage to buy. Is this true?

2) If I issue a cheque to buy the fund, will I get my fund purchased immediately on the day when I submitted my purchase (with related that day's price) OR they only buy for me when my cheque is cleared after 3 days (with after 3 days' price)?

Thanks for your reply Kingkong!

In fact, I want to do some investment and finding a suitale fund to invest. My fren recommend me to buy new fund from PM (called Pulic Islamic Treasurer). But looking at volatility that our share market performed yesterday (10-Mar), it don't hv confidence in our domestic market.

When I tried to looked the the list of price of the funds posted online by PM, all the fund showing red (drop in price). I don't wish to see my $ got shrink in the bank but yet I am a bit hestiate to invest. Can you advise me?

Thanks!

About Public Islamic Balance Fund

Hi,

I was advised by my agent to invest in Public Islamic Balance Fund as I told him I can take some moderate risk and expecting some moderate return on my investment. Finally I invested in Public Islamic Balance Fund (PIBF). But the price has been deteriorating and I have a paper lost of $1K per last Friday (4/4/08) price of $0.2668.

I am thinking is it better for me to switch to other fund to avoid further loss? Can the experts here give some opinion? Many thanks!

Wtt

Hi Thanks for your valuable feedback. It sounds really professional...

But I don't understand why when interest rate goes up then the bond price will go down and vice-versa? Sorry if I've asked a silly question here...

I am thinking if I was too prudent to have chosen the balanced fund. My objective of investment is I can get some regular return as well as future gain in my unit price. What would be the switching guidance can you share. What are the fund that can give me moderate return in medium say 3-4 yrs?

cheers,

wtt
