The loss i endured in the past two week is more than the cost of switching out into bonds and back in (when equity stabilized)

Public index fund and Public savings fund (moderate) both drop roughly 3% :-\

It looks as though it underperformed cos they start benchmarking even before the fund really started.

Hard to say man. I would say preserve your savings into bond fund, wait for a correction/crash to come in before switching to Equity funds. BUT... She'll not get commission before u switch :-\

Quick question. can i switch RM800 worth of units into money market? I don't have MM account yet. Switching only need to fulfill 1000 units min requirement rite?

Try switching to money market. Switching into it costs nothing. But switching back into bonds or equity charges u RM25

It depends on how strong the future correction/recession is. If you invested in late 1996 your funds would have been -3~4% by 1999. Are you comfortable with that?

I rather just dump into any authorized local bond funds :-\
Low service charge when entering. Hopefully can beat EPF's pathetic 4-5% rate can liao.

Well. They followed the benchmark quite well until the last week or so. I think this is because there was a massive money outflow to outer conservative funds thanks to panic switching.
