But will this be a good time to buy? From the looks of it these few funds' trend was going down, and still heading there.

I'm just wondering if it'll hit anymore lower next month.

Btw, I'm quite new in this...

Sometimes, we really need to think of this logically.
Since these funds are "actively managed" by experienced fund managers, will the price hit RM0.0000 and never to get back up again? Even during the crisis in 1987, 1997 and 2001, we can still see that market will come back no matter how hard it has been hit. It just takes time, this is the reason we are trying to advise our investors to invest for the long term.
History tells my friend, so do not worry. Our fund managers will not let the investors lose money, unless the investors opt to do so smile.gif

Agents are supposed to "slip" information like these tongue.gif
That is why we are an important asset to the investors.
If everything can be seen from the website, then there is no job for us already biggrin.gif

The website has been update. The information is now available from the website:

Question about buying Public Mutual Fund:

1. If i withdraw from my EPF to buy, is it a MUST to buy through agent? or I can buy by myself?
2. If i use cash to buy, is it a MUST to buy through agent? or I can buy by myself?

If we can buy by ourself at PublicBank, or by using Pbebank.com, then why do we need agent?

If you don't have any funds with PM, you need to get yourself an agent first by buying at least one new fund.

PBbeank is another mean of topping up your investment provided that you have a fund account number. It's not meant for buying new funds.

Bro, with/without agent, the service charge still applies.
So, why not let us agents do the job for you? smile.gif
In fact, agents do not only invest for you, but give out valuable advice to you for better decisions.
With agents, you do not have to monitor the funds yourself, since you have agents to update you.

This question has been ask over n over again...i oso answered twice by doing some comparison. (add) Jordy oso have been answering for few times ady sweat.gif

But the basic simple things...if there is someone helping you doing all the run around to do your investment transaction, you save urself time & money (petrol, parking, saman)...wouldn't that be great?

if there is someone, who can update you on the market progress & give their advises & opinion, wouldn't that be great as well?

All that is what u might get from the service charge u pay, & if u wish not to have those things, you still pay the same service charge...

By the way, why there's no official announment regarding this in the PM website?

I don't even know this if kingkong81 doesn't post it in here.

All the agents will always have the priviledges to get the news fr PM earlier. In this matter, it was available in the PM website for Agent Domain...if ur agent did not check the website, he/she might not be informed on this earlier, else, ur agent upline oso not informing him lor...

The market in 1st quarter will still be in volatile mood...good time to buy?
It might be good time to go in to take advantage of the lower unit price. But my advise is not to put in all your money at once...try to add in bit by bit, by practising dollar-cost averaging, coz the market is still volatile. But, do look at longer term...and the old principle...buy low sell high

TQ for clarification Jordy brother.

that means whether we buy thru agent or by ourself, the service charges are exactly the same right?
if the service charges are exactly the same, then better use agent.

let the agent earn 5% or so for the hard work they do for us.

Service charge is standard and charged upfront whether you like it or not. It's the game's rule. If you want to join the game, you must adhere to the rules.

No worries mate.
Yes, it is wiser to use agents.
This will be a win-win situation for both parties smile.gif
If I am not mistaken, you have invested quite heftily in stocks as well right?
How come suddenly getting interested in unit trust? smile.gif
Mind to share your asset allocation?

I have a question to all agents here, If I sell or empty all my units in particular fund (for example Public Index), does my account be closed immediately or the account no. still valid if i intend to buy the fund in future. For your info, i top up the fund using PBEBANK and coz i'm a staff of PBB, i bought at NAV thru branch most of the time smile.gif

It will be closed when you make a full redemption.
Your account will only be maintained if you have a minimum of 1,000 units.

Your account no. will still be active for 2 years before it will be totally closed. So, if you wish to switch or purchase the same fund again, you can use back the same account no.

It won't be closed immediately. My PITTIKIAL is a good example. I made full switching two years ago. That day I called the CS if I could still top up to it since it reopened, she said can.

Unit trust is from EPF.
Now, stock is very high risk with USA subprime issue, better take a rest in stock for a while.

Where are u staying? how long u oledi be agent for unit trust and which unit trust u in?
I m considering to find a good upline.

Since the interest rate would be stable for the time being.

Bond funds is a good alternative to FD for those who wants stability but higher than FD returns.

PruBond & HDBS SBF don't have service charge for buying & selling.

QUOTE

those without service charge bond fund mostly charge you higher management feees.so at the end,the particular bond fund performance and return are more important.
